I fitted one and wouldn't be without it
I fitted one of these to my house one year ago and can confirm that it does exactly what it states. The problem I needed to overcome was moisture on the inside of the windows during cold weather and this unit solved it. Although we have double glazing throughout, moisture would still gather overnight, especially in the bedrooms. Before buying a Vent Axia PIV I read various reviews ranging from 'this will change your life' to ' it fell apart when I took it out of the box.' Well here is a review from someone who has had it running for a year. the installation was straightforward and took about one hour; but will take longer if you need to run a power supply to your loft. The noise from the fan is minimal and after a while you stop noticing it. It draws filtered air from the loft area so the draught can be cool in Winter months but I can put up with that as the moisture prevention benefits far outweighs this. Added benefits I have noticed are reduced hay fever sneezing whilst in the house and less cooking smells about the house. So, if you are tired of mopping the inside of your windows then this is the product for you.

Prevents mould when opening the windows isn't really an option
I found myself an accidental landlord after I had to move to another city but my home didn't sell. So I got tenants, who after a few years said they'd started getting mould in places. The weather was atrocious and I couldn't say have you tried opening the windows and getting some ventilation once in a while, so I ordered this and had it fitted in the loft. It's done the trick and the air flow it's created has prevented a recurrence of the mould. In terms of noise, I've not heard it ever when I've been over there. In terms of value for money, functionality and quality, no complaints from the tenant about mould means that it's earning its keep and doing exactly what it was bought for. It's installed up in the loft, so no issues with fit, either, because it's completely unobtrusive.

Works well and not expensive to run.
Works extremely well in preventing condensation and mould. Slightly sceptical at first but significantly reduced humidity in the house. No more problems with condensation on windows. Only minor problem is that the air output temperature doesn't come out at the set level.

Best thing I've bought.
Works brilliantly....easy to home install if you are a little practical. No more condensation on windows while house smells fresh. Quiet operation.

Very quick and effective
I would like to add my review just to help convince anyone who was kind of undecided on whether this would work for them, or whether there are too many side effects. Installing it was quite easy - my only problems were moving the junk around in the loft, and of course I needed to be very careful when cutting a hole in the ceiling, but once I had found the perfect spot, it just took some drilling of a circle of holes, then cutting it out with the saw on my swiss army knife, and that was it. The rest of the installation and setup was very easy. I simply wired a plug onto the flying lead, along with a 3a fuse in the plug It is designed to be very energy efficient, with the default settings, the heater won't switch on unless the temperature in the loft drops below 5 degrees C. The house does not feel any colder, unless you stand right underneath the diffuser, and you can only hear the fan if you're standing on the landing - we cannot hear it in the other rooms. As for the performance, it worked instantly. The next morning there was no more condensation in our room or our daughter's room, which generally had condensation on the windows pretty much every morning. We don't even need to keep the doors open to allow the PIV to vent those rooms, it just works! I thought that for the price (£385 I think), this was one of the best deals compared to the other brands and packages. There is the heater if we want it (can be disabled in the settings), and there was no need for any controls anywhere else, as the PIV automatically adjusts according to the incoming air temperature in the loft. And by the way, if you decide to hang the PIV from the roof woodwork rather than using the legs, you can send the legs back to Vent-Axia for free: FREEPOST VENT-AXIA FAO RIZZY COOK PIV LOFT STAND RH10 9YX

Amazing
Even after reading so many glowing reviews and watching a lot of Youtube videos about these (First heard about via Charlie DIYte), I am stunned how well they work. We live in a new house but still got condensation on the windows every winter day and I had a pain in my face wiping it off every morning. Since day one after installation, nothing, nada, zilch. Humidity levels dropped from high 60s to just 53%. My asthma/breathing has improved and overall air quality just feels better. Air temp on landing is 16.2° so it has dropped from 20, even with heater on (I think, instructions and mode setting are not at all intuitive). Overall, I can't recommend enough. Re wiring, I had the idea that all I had to do was stick a plug on this, but it's not that simple. It requires a 3 amp spur to be connected to something else, in my case I wired a live, neutral and earth into the back of my water pump socket, ran the cable over to the PIV, then wired those 3 wires into the 'IN' on a 3A spur, then the live and neutral from the PIV went into the OUT receptors. Needed ChatGPT to tell me what was needed as the instructions were not at all clear to me.

Working well
Had this installed 2 years ago ish. Still working well. Only issue is the filter cleaning. They are surprisingly difficult to remove.

Amazing! Almost hard to believe!
I was sceptical about these until a friend who had terrible condensation and mould told me this was the best thing he’d ever bought for the house. We’ve had problems with black mould around windows and condensation on the glass since we moved in. The day before I fitted this we were still waking up to condensation on the bottom few inches of our windows throughout the house and constantly having to use mould remover. I fitted this on a Saturday, took me a few hours to do but I took my time and I’m no tradesman. You basically cut a large hole in the ceiling, put the vent in the hole and do the screws up. Inside the loft I used the suspension fitting to suspend the unit from a roof truss. Kind of a big cup hook screwed into the wood and a length of cord (all supplied) and it hangs there. It comes with legs if you want to mount it that way too, but the single hook seemed easiest to me. Then you connect the flexible pipe to the vent, wire it up to a power supply (I used upstairs lighting circuit) and off you go. The next day ZERO condensation anywhere. I was astounded! Every room, dry as a bone. Doors open or closed made no difference. Downstairs just as dry as upstairs. It’s a fan and that’s about it… I do not know how it is so effective but it is!! Things we’ve noticed after a week of use are there is of course air movement so on the upstairs landing you feel it. Not strong, like a slight draught. This is of course how it works and it’s no problem for us, certainly not compared to the damp. The air comes from the loft so sometimes we catch a faint whiff of that “lofty” smell. I’ve read this fades over time as more and more fresh air is drawn through the loft. Again this is very minor especially compared to the condensation we suffered before. Our loft has no soffit vents or roof vents so in a loft that does it may not occur. All in all, delighted and I am just annoyed I didn’t buy it sooner!
