Kamado Joe Half-Moon Cast Iron Reversible Flat-Top Griddle with Smooth and Ribbed Surface for Classic Joe Charcoal Grill and Smokers in Black, Model KJ-HCIGRIDDLE

It's a nice griddle that fits perfectly in the Kamado Joe Classic II (2017) model. Have used this multiple times and it's been great each time - scallops on this are particularly amazing! Some additional tips: 1) It DOES need to be seasoned first (there's a good vid on KJ's youtube channel to show you how and it's easy). 2) It's a nice cast iron piece that can serve multiple uses because of the dual sides (raised grooves and flat griddle). 3) It cooks nicely and I would recommend it if you want cast iron, however this is also another viable option -- the Little Griddle Kettle Q is a stainless steel griddle that would also fit. Although it's not cast iron, the Little Griddle K-Q has a couple advantages: it has a drip lip to catch drippings so they don't drop down into your fire and it doesn't need to be seasoned, however it is slightly more expensive ($68 vs $50). I'd decide between those two options - you really can't go wrong with either.

Kamado Joe Classic half moon griddle: Heavy, sturdy cast iron. Fits the KJ Classic Divide and Conquer perfectly. Not preseasoned, if that's a deal breaker for you. Makes amazing burgers. They cook with a nice crust on them, retaining great smoky flavor without drying out. Can't wait to try it with other foods.

The order arrived early and was well packaged, typical for Kamado Joe products. I haven't used the griddle yet as I just finished seasoning it but from watching John Setzler (who represents KamadoJoe) on You Tube this will be a "can't miss" addition to my Joe Classic. The griddle is heavy duty and when compared to my cast iron pans is of equal quality which is fine. This griddle adds a new dimension to the Joe as there is no flare up and the smash burgers look great and are easy to make. Check out John on YouTube and see what you can do with this griddle.

Nice half moon griddle can also be used as a deflector. Puts a nice sear on whatever you want so far haven't had any issues with it.

Griddle fits well on my Kamado Joe Classic. I use it to make "smashburgers" as shown in a KJ receipe on YT. Also puts a nice crust on steak before moving to the grill section. Seems well made and should last a long time, it's cast iron after all. The only negative and it's minor is it is a little unwiedly to remove when adding charcoal. Other than that it's a great product.

Griddles are a must-have if you intend to grill breakfast or make smashburgers, but that they come in halves make them impractical unless you buy two. There’s not enough surface area on just one half. I understand coming in halves allows for flexibility in the event you want a grated side and griddle side, but cooking like that is impractical. Food from the griddle side can inadvertently get pushed over to the grated side and get lost in the coals, so needing two halves becomes apparent after one use. After you buy your second griddle, you soon find that cooking on two griddles pushed together is a pain, and you’ll wish it was just one solid surface. Look for something like that. It would be much better. I really wanted to rate this three stars because of this, but because that wouldn’t be fair to those looking to use a griddle differently, gave it four stars because of quality. Can’t give it five stars due to cost compared to value.

If you have a Kamado Joe and you grill steaks, you want this cast iron insert. I typically smoke my steak for about 45 mins or until it reaches 125°, then I take them off, open all the vents and get this cast iron super hot to sear the steaks for a few minutes. Trust me, you wont be disappointed.

Makes grilling fish or vegetables a lot easier

Wer nur eine "halbe" Griddle- oder Plancha-Platte braucht ist hier bestens bedient.

Excellent, heavy duty griddle. Does a wonderful job on steaks and the smooth side is great for browning wings.
