Is there a case for the thread nippers, or is there a way to lock them closed?

No case is included for the nipper, and there is no way to lock them closed.

There are replacement blades included for the thread cutter but I found the very difficult to snap into place and finally gave up. I am not totally impressed with the longer seam rippers either. The handles are too slim to get a good grip on, aren't very sharp, and they feel flimsy.

Where can I buy more replacement blades? I sew for a living and go through them quickly, but love these snippers.

This set was not worth it Very cheaple made and did not hold up well.

Do the snippers have a gaurd or covering

No and if you change the blades which they nicely provide it takes patience to learn or it did for me. I find them safe to be in my sewing goods without covers. hope this helps
