Works Great
I have used this same product in my 20 gal long tank for 3 + years and it is still working strong. That is why I bought this same one for another tank I have. Plus turning the temp díal and you can see clearly the red indiçator in front to show what approximate temp you want to set it in is a plus. I also like Aqueon heaters and they last long for me as well but you can not really see the temp iñdicator because it is on top near the dial compared to this one. So the advantage for me is the red indicator scale that shows in front makes it easier for me to see what I set it to. Also I use a temp gauge in the tank to make sure I get the temp the way I want it after I set the heater temp.

Favorite Heater
I've had a few heaters for fish tanks in my time, though by no means a lot. These have been my favorite so far. They're inexpensive, adjustable (in my home they can heat between a 5 gallon to a 20 comfortably with the adjustments), and pretty consistent in regards to temperature/regulating temperature. I currently have two bettas, each in a 10 gallon with one snail, and keep the temperature right around 76 F all the time. I did have one go out on me after owning it for six months, but I had just moved and it simply got squished in my car since I was trying to get the fish relocated as quickly and comfortably as possible. I ordered the exact same heater to replace it.Short version: good, reliable heater for a fair price.

Great Affordable Heater!
This heater does a great job for my son's 36 gallon tank. His angels are happy and thriving. The price was about half as much as the pet stores wanted.

so use a thermometer to set the temp instead of using the one on the heater and you will be fine.
I have three of these and these keep a constant temperature, I have had some from other discount brands that allow a 1 to 2 degree temp swing. My only gripe is that in my tanks the temperature bar on the heater is way off from what the temp is in the tank, so use a thermometer to set the temp instead of using the one on the heater and you will be fine.

Might have gotten a defective unit?
I got 2 of these. The first one is great, but the second one, the indicator light is not bright at all; you can barely tell when it's heating. I set it at 79 degrees, and I'm lucky if it keeps the tank at 72 degrees.

Great value
This product is great for the value easy to use and the quality is great I use these in multiple tanks but just as any heater may need to replace after a year if you get a defective one only happened to me once other than that I've had them for several years and they are amazing and easy to use

It's still running and keeping the tank nice and warm
I got this heater in August 2015 for a 10 gallon betta tank. It's still running and keeping the tank nice and warm, even in the cold winter! I think that over time, it starts getting a little warmer, but only by a degree or two. The temperature setting on the heater definitely isn't 100% accurate, and I have to have it set a little lower than the temperature I want- but once you know it's a little off, it's easy to just set the temperature a few degrees lower. Overall it's been a really good heater and I haven't had any serious problems. I also have it fully submerged and horizontal in my tank. I've even seen my snails climb on it and eat algae off it it before, too.

Failed in 6 months, killed my blood parrot and large number of molly fry
I purchased this for a 29 gallon tank I was using as a starter tank for a Blood Parrot Cichlid. However, due to some aggression on the part of a male molly who was in a larger community tank, this tank also ending up housing him and a few females a couple months after the Blood Parrot moved in. While not generally a good combination, it worked for these guys. The cichlid was quite shy and became a lot more interactive once they were added, while never bothering any of the mollies or their fry. The male quickly figured out he was no longer the baddest dude in the tank and mellowed out considerably, while not acting particularly afraid of the cichlid. One Saturday about 4 months after adding the mollies, I found the cichlid dead at the bottom of the tank. The heater had failed and was stuck on, raising the tank temperature to 105 degrees. I got the temperature down as quickly as I thought was safe, but lost the Blood Parrot and a couple dozen fry due to the failure of this unit. I consider myself extremely lucky that the adult mollies made it through relatively unscathed. It was probably just bad luck, but rather than taking chances with another of these, I've decided to stick with Eheim heaters: I've had a number of their heaters for multiple years and have never had any problems with them. Amazon has a number of Eheim heaters available and, while a bit more expensive than the Marina, they're probably a better bet.

Good product
It runs a little warm but overall works. Keep an eye on the water temp as it can climb beyond what you set it at.

Warm water, happy fish!
Does a great job. Keeps the water at the exact temperature. My fish couldn’t be happier, well maybe if I knew how to clean the tank... but the beater is perfect, and a wonderful price!
