Arcade Classics, Defender Retro Handheld Mini Arcade Game. Review: So Freaking Fun! - This is my first mini-cabinet, so take the review with a grain of salt. First off, this isn't Defender -- it's Defender II: Stargate. So if you want the true Defender, avoid this. However, in terms of it being Stargate, this thing is a blast. I can't stop putting it down. The controls are very responsive and to my surprise easy to use despite the small size. The graphics and sound are great! I've been looking forever for reliable "Defender" ports, as I love this game, but the controls are always wonky. This one is not. The controls work great and I am ecstatic. I think I'm hooked on mini-cabinets now as I just bought four more. Including Heavy Barrel which I haven't found anywhere until now! My all-time fave after this one. Review: It is EXACTLY Defender (Stargate) and UNBELIEVABLE for the price!! - I was absolutely addicted to Defender in the 1980s and my muscle memory knows every nuance of the game. I ordered this because it was only $10 and I thought I didn't have much to lose. But when I got it, WOW, I was shocked! It is actually Defender Stargate, the more advanced version that came out later. And it is an EXACT clone, it seems like an emulator using the same code. The look, feel and sound is basically the same thing I skipped college classes to play back in the day :) Just smaller. And for only $10 this is mind-blowing. IT IS SO GOOD!

This is not the item pictured, it is much better!
This item is a bargain! You get Defender II the NES version. Actual screen, not the LED one pictured. They need to update those photos. I did not buy this for a long time because I thought it was the lame LED one.

Cool little version of the original
No issues. Works well. A cool desk game that I played the original arcade version as a kid. Fun little toy

Well...
Hmm it was odd that it came in an eBay package but I suppose that happens it’s just never happened to me before. Bought these as Christmas gifts for my boys (year 2020). I inspect all toys prior to gifting them. The batteries that were included didn’t work so I had to replace them. After replacing the batteries they worked fine, for now anyway. I’m a bit skeptical because one box had a Walmart yellow clearance sticker on it that read Was 19.98 Now 7.00 🤨. Were they used or new? Who knows. Hopefully they’ll hold out for a bit. Lastly, I ordered two of the Defender games and received one Defender and one SpyHunter, not going to quibble much about that though.

Power switch doa
game excellent, arrived brand new (for sure due to the packaging, errr) with totally non functional on/ off button. That is very very inconvenient as you must take batteries out to turn off. This was just a bad one, it happens, as I have several and only this one has a problem new but not worth effort to return

It is great fun but it did not last long. My spouse was disappointed that it stopped working correctly as quick as it did. It is great for nostalgia.
