Light Up Your Creativity! 💡
The Fiber Optic Fabric in Black measures 40x75 cm and features woven optical fibers that create stunning light displays. Shine a light on one end to see the entire fabric come alive with shimmering pinpricks of light. This innovative material can be customized through abrasion, allowing for unique patterns and light leaks, making it ideal for a variety of creative applications.

Look like Claire Danes with this pretty fiberoptic fabric
Did you like that Zac Posen dress that Claire Danes wore to the Met Gala? This is the same stuff (except in black)!I bought this to make the scarf from the book Make It, Wear It; Wearable Electronics for Makers, Crafters and Cosplayers (bought from Amazon). I haven't made the scarf yet but I tried the fabric by holding up an LED to fiberoptic bundle on one side. It looks really cool, like little points of light sprinkled throughout. I thought it would just be on one side but both sides of the fabric glow.

fiber going lengthwise (in the long direction)
I will update when i see how it works but i was very disappointed in the strands, i would think for a 40x75 cm peice of fabric, the strands would go from top to bottom on the 40cm side, not the 75cm side ... and unfortunately, this can not be changed :(

The Emperor’s New Clothes (I was mailed an empty box)
I have an upcoming assignment for applied design and wanted to glean what I could from fiber optic clothing by implementing it in a current project. I had ordered the product on October 15th 2015 and it was promptly delivered to me on the October 17th. I was excited to see this new material here and opened it up in front of my roommate who was mildly interested.I broke the tape seal on the first box myself, and removed the white box from inside. I broke that tape seal as well and found nothing in there except air.I paid 44.95 and waited patiently for an empty box.I am extremely disappointed in and thoroughly insulted by Karlsson Robotics who have failed to commit to the simplest of task.My project assembly takes place on the 20th and I have no time to play games now. My assignment it closing in, and I will be looking at a suffering grade due to this.On the Karlsson Robotics Amazon homepage I can clearly read: Our company philosophy, 'Do it Right the First Time!’Karlsson Robotics has failed their own philosophy. The first thing they must do, is stop lying on their homepage, because it isn’t really your philosophy if you don’t follow it.In all honesty I expect this is a goof up on their end and was unintentional, although that does not excuse them at all and as a paying customer I should be disappointed and am allowed to use this review to encourage them to not fail again in the future.I will keep this review updated as per their customer service skills and if I ever get my hands on the actual product. This is assuming that they aren’t a band of internet thieves that steal money and ship empty boxes as a cruel joke. I do doubt that last hypothesis is actually true, I am off the opinion they may be a bit inept at putting items in boxes on occasion however.

Looks great, but a pain to work with
Cutting the fabric is hard. You must cut in one direction and work carefully not to cut any of the strands. Also it frays. But it looks good overall. The brighter the LED, the prettier it is. Does look best in the dark.

Durability and performance
This fiber optic fabric is excellent for my project. It is made well and feels durable. One minor issue is that the fiber-optic end was just cut and not polished, which cuts down on the light transmitted in the fiber optics. I highly recommended it. I will definitely buy this again.

Even with a bright light shining into the fibers, ...
Even with a bright light shining into the fibers, the fabric only lights very dimly. But if you use it in a pitch black room you can see the lights.
