Love this film,Gable is strong in this role,yet he has a vulnerable character who is dealing with family issues and professional one's as well.Gable puts it all on the line in this film that boasts a fine supporting cast as well.

I’ve seen parts of this movie over the years on TCM but never in its entirety until today. Gable shows why he was the “King”. Good support by Alexis Smith, Audrey Totter, Barry Sullivan, and Wendell Corey (in a rare unsympathetic role). William Conrad and Mickey Knox always fun to watch. Daryl Hickman is fine as Gable’s ( initially) wayward son. Highly recommend this film.

The climax of the movie this very very good . The character of Gables son is pretty insipid but you don’t pay attention to that you always pay attention to Gable and he is unbeatable.

As the saying goes, they don't make movies like this anymore. Excellent cast and story.

I saw part of this one night on TCM and really enjoyed it. Since I hadn't seen the whole thing and I really like Clark Gable I thought it prudent to have in my personal library for my viewing convenience.
