Will work with 'old technology' dimmers. Yes, it is not the stark cold white light - but softer.Yes, it uses more power and is more expensive and has a shorter life - works for me!I am not upgrading the dimmer to be abler to use LED lamps in order to keep pace with continually evolving (not always improving) technology!Happy the our government 'overseers' have not yet required manufacturer discontinuance.

Seems OK, but not the right size for me.
Trying to find those older incandescent lightbulbs for canned lights is a challenge. This one was my second attempt. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the right size. I don’t know if I missed the dimensions, but a photo of the bulb next to a ruler would be very helpful. I only gave it four stars because I wasn’t able to test it out. Try try again.

Going back to incandescent
We decided to switch back up incandescent light as much as we can as led was giving us headaches from the flickers in it so these lights works well so far for our use purposes

Short life span
I bought 2 of these “not easy to find” bulbs and it’s a good thing I did. The first one burned out in 10 seconds, probably due to minimal packaging or more likely rough handling, as the package was light and easy to throw. The second one seems to be working. The first shattered when trying to remove it. I’d hoped for tougher bulbs.

My new place to buy these.
For some reason the home improvement store I normally buy these types of bulbs from stopped selling them so I had to do some shopping online to find some. So far they work good for what I needed them for.
