I usually wear ball caps because I like to put my ponytail through the back of the hat, but they don't keep much sun off me, so when I saw this style of hat I thought I would give it a try. I measured my head (since I have a pretty big head), and saw that I needed over 23". I ordered this hat because it was the only ponytail bucket type hat I found with a measurement of over 23" (23.6" according to the description). Well, unfortunately, it is really only about 22.5". I measured it several times. It fits okay, but it's definitely snug and would be more comfortable if it could expand to the full 23.6". I wore it to a sports event today and it did a good job keeping the sun off my shoulders while letting my head breathe and keeping my ponytail contained and off my back. If you have an average head, this hat works very nicely. If you have a large head, you might try one of the ones that says it's up to 23" because they might give you the full 23" at least.

I purchased two of these hats from two different sellers. This hat was shipped flat - much better than the other seller, who shipped their hat folded. The brim is the same width all the way around, so, when I tilt my head back, the hat tends to lift up, but the brim shades the back of my neck, as well as my nose. The strap is comfortable, but the adjustment is not a "quick-release" style, however, the buckle adjustment style works fine (needs two hands) and the hat stays on my head, even in the wind. I live in the desert and also near the beach and this hat is nearly perfect for both areas.

Bought this sun hat for my trip to Peru . Wanted a hiking cap for protection from sun , wind, and rain and easy of packing . Great choice.

I packed this hat for a two week vacation in Yellowstone. The most important thing for me, besides comfort, was that it was secure to my head. I did not want my hat flying off into the delicate ecosystem of the park. I wore it during several windy days and had no issues at all. It packs nicely into a backpack and holds its shape very well. I like the mesh around the crown and the broad brim. It's a great hat for the price.

I have 2 other straw type hats, that I like, but have to put hair up in it to get it off the neck when it’s hot. The bulk of the hair, makes the hat not stay on to good, however, being able to put your ponytail through the hat... PERFECT!!5 Star in my book, fits well, draw string to cinch it down is easy to use... love, love, love it. Yesterday was the first day to wear it and 3 people commented about how they liked it.

I love this hat. It is very cool in the hot sun because of the mesh on the sides, it is light weight and has a strap to keep it on in a breeze. I walk my dog around a lake every day and am fair skinned so I need a hat but many hats are too hot or blow off . This one is great. Just what I was looking for!

I like the light weight of the hat and appreciate the chin strap as I live in a windy area. It fits perfectly and has an adjustment if needed. I purchased the pink one and it's not as light as I thought it would be, more of a salmon color. Not a detractor at all as it is a very pretty color.

I am very outdoors person and hike very high mountains, 12,000 ft and up. Won't be able to try it in the winds of the higher altitudes this year but I confidently think this hat will withstand them. I have a small head (fits my body) and tightens so I don't even need the string around the chin. The crown breathes so your head does not sweat. Very comfy. Would buy again.Update: A pretty big wind storm blew in to my area last week, winds 45-50 mph. The brim held fast, did not flip up or down over the eyes. Highly recommended for serious hikers who are hard on hats.
