Waterdrop RPFK Spin Down Sediment Filter, 40-50 Micron, BPA Free

This is a quality product and I suspected it was a soon as I picked up the box. I guess I’m kind of old-school when it comes to plumbing products, if it feels heavy enough to be exhibit A in a murder trial, it’s probably OK. The primary housing is a quality piece of cast brass expertly machined to appropriate standards. It comes with fittings, allowing you to convert it from 1 inch to three-quarter inch and as an extra bonus it comes with two shark bite, three-quarter inch adapters. These easy to use push connectors cost $10 apiece if you go to buy them separately. The ball cock on the bottom serves as an easy clean function, and also will release the pressure on the system in case you want to take it apart to give the filter a more detailed cleaning. The filter is a permanent one made of stainless steel or some closely related alloy. Things you should know; first it’s a clear housing in a high impact quality plastic. This allows you to visually inspect the filter to see if it needs a flushing. However, if it’s in direct sunlight, it can turn into kind of a terrarium, and you’ll get algae growth. You can solve that by draping an old towel over it. The other thing you should know is it’s not really a filter it’s a pre-filter. It is a 50 µm built-in system. It will handle dirt, fine sediment, bits of sand even rust, but it’s not going to take out absolutely everything. Depending on your situation and the quality of water, it might be fine by itself or you might want to follow it with a different system down stream with a 1 or 5 µm filter to really do the job. This prefilter will greatly extend the life of your filtration system. Make those expensive replacement filters last longer.

The small hose to let the filter water come out was small and very short. We had to buy a longer hose so we could drain the water to the outside. Other than that, the system is fine.

First I am grateful to the product owner, they went above and beyond to replace the item when I received it. Product works is doing its job. I have a well and was having trouble with too much iron and other hard minerals. It has improved the filtering system. Will give another review when it has aged, but so far I'm satisfied with it. .

Comes with all necessary fitting. I bought this to filter well water before it goes into my pressure washer. Haven’t used it yet , but looking at the quality oh everything I’m confident it will be perfect. This filter I’m my opinion would not be large enough for whole house use . The design is great. Heavy materials for endurance.

I had a previous lower quality unit that blew out the seals and I could not repair it. This unit is so much better quality. Took me no time to install with the included shark bite connectors. No leaks and didn’t have to redo any of my work. I did swap the filter screen to the included 500 micron filter. I have well water and use this filter for my outside faucets and sprinkler system only.

Placed this on one of our yard hydrants so that sand from our well doesn't keep clogging up our sprinklers. Works great and is super easy to clear out sediment with valve on the bottom. Very well built with solid, heavy parts.

Would give it 5 Stars for functionality and build, but does not seem to follow standard plumbing and will LEAK. They have a unions, these unions allow you to remove product easily without removing fittings etc. Mainly for Service. However the Gaskets for the union. Half Dallor size Rigid plastic do not seal. Most unions use a rubber or moldable rubber, these are plastic. They leak. Read instructions again, they expect the sealant to be the UNION Threads. It says 10 wraps of teflon around the union threads. I had to remove, added silicon grease to both sides of the white PLASTIC washers, and also teflon, and TFE paste. This fixed my leakes. However, for such a quality device, they unions should have rubber gaskets. I would suggest not using the unions, get nipples, use the inner threads, and put your own 3/4" unions on the inlet and outlet of the unit. I am sure many others have had similar issues with sealing.

About the product: 1st - Super simple and easy to install 2nd - You can see it working because of the transparent glass 3rd - Because of the transparent glass on it, is easy to know when it is necessary to clean the filter 4rd - The small valve (drain) at the bottom is super helpful during the process of installation and the cleaning after. 5 Stars product for sure.
