Hardly any water comes out and the pad is not very wet. This is a brand new vacuum.** A: You might need to call Ecovacs they would send you different mopping pads! You could test the water absorption of the current pad and see why there is almost literally less less water absorbed through the current pad. Some bought another brand mopping pad like Dreametech and put it on and works!! Search on YouTube about this problem some could tell exact same issue like yours! Good luck! **Q: How high of carpet will it work on?** A: My carpet is about 3/4” and it works fine on it, not sure how high it will go but seems to work good. **Q: Once the mapping is done, can you set it in the middle of an area and to start cleaning as opposed to starting from the charging dock** A: Yes, kind of. You can assign what rooms you want it to clean in order, but if you want it start in the “middle” of a room and clean outward, no it can’t do that. Once mapped you can have it clean a assigned room or several rooms instead of the entire mapped area. You can also narrow the cleaning down in a room to just clean a rug or small patch, but no you can’t have it start in the middle of a room. I will tell you I have been very impressed with the Deebot. This is my first time buying a robot vacuum, and I was a little nervous about the setup and it being overly complex. Let me tell you, it was SO EASY!Set up: once you open up the box, just plug in the docking station and switch it on near the cord. Then lift the top cover of the Deebot and scan the QR code underneath. Download the app and press start on the app. Then it literally tells you what to do step by step with pictures (switch the on switch, return to docking station, etc.). The Deebot talks to you as well. You can see in my video.There is a full paper manual if you prefer, but literally just starting the app was so easy.To help it find the docking station for the first time, you have to push it into the docking space (put the back side in. Opposite of the camera).Navigation: Let it roam around and map your house. (The app prompts you to do this). Just close any doors or block off spaces you don't want it to go. After that, it will remember where to go.The wheels on the bottom and lift kit help it navigate easily. It lifts pretty high and can go over raised carpet edges etc. So easily and seemlessly.Power and suction:You can set the power and suction level on the app and change it easily. On the normal setting it picked up large debris and fine dust. The sweeper on the side and the roller sweeper on the bottom quite literally got everything with out missing.The device stays connected to your Wi-Fi all the time. Even though the app is on your phone, you do not have to be in range to start it. You can literally tell it to start while you are not home. Or you can schedule regular times.The app:I posted a screenshot of the app. When you start a cleaning, you can click to tell it to sweep, mop, or both. Set the suction level and speed.You can also go to advanced settings and tell it to do different things in each room if you want. For example, I want it to mop the kitchen but not anywhere else. It automatically detects carpet, so you don't have to tell it not to mop the carpet. It's so logical!You can also save your settings and name them in "favorites". For example, you could save one set of instructions and name it "daily clean" and another setting you could call "company is coming over"Oh, and did I mention, you can also talk to it! So if you have your settings saved you can say "start cleaning for company coming over." And you can also name your robot. It's so cute!Docking station:Ok so the docking station is big. I'm going to keep it under a little side table. It does have a cord wrapping space in the back so it can sit up right flush with the wall. My video just doesn't show this. The size is understandable though because it empties into the dust compartment, and it has a separate clean water tank, detergent dispenser, and dirty water tank. All compartments are very easy to remove, empty,and place back in. And I appreciate that the compartments are large enough that I don't have to change them every day. Maybe if you have pets you would change them once a week, but it holds a lot. The dust compartment is as big as my regular vacuum.In fact, I am getting rid of my regular vacuum! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It truly makes a difference *by on Reviewed in the United States June 3, 2026* TLDR; it's an excellent product that requires some routine maintenance.Flooring compatibility; I use this on hardwoods. I don't know how it fares with carpets. For my floors, it does an excellent job and leaves the surfaces feeling, as one person put it, "museum-floor clean." We are a shoes-off house and, with pets, this has made all the difference. There are some complaints I have read about the necessity for replacing vacuum bags in the station unit, but I view that as a plus since it means that odors and allergens stay in the bag when the contents are transferred. As for some of the other potential selling points; Battery life: a 1600 ft area consumes about 30% of the total battery per scheduled cleaning consisting of both vacuuming and mopping. It does an excellent job of picking up dust and dirt and the mopping leaves the floor feeling clean. The app; I found it to be user friendly and appreciate its many features.The unit does require some routine maintenance to keep it running efficiently. However, for the level of cleanliness that it supplies to the floors of your home, what equals to be a 15 minute investment per week is a small price to pay. If it's in your budget, this is a great way to go. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Major Failure After One Week. Ecovacs eventually made it right. *by on Reviewed in the United States March 13, 2026* Update: June 2026.Ecovacs took notice of my review and contacted me to make things right. Their customer service, while delayed, did come through in the end, so I’ll give them 4 stars now.Multiple failures with both the machine and Ecovacs customer service have resulted in this 1 star review.After only one week of normal use, the vacuum already needs a new side brush and a new main brush roller.Failure one: the obstacle avoidance failed miserably and the robot ran directly over a 12 inch dog toy. I watched this machine avoid objects much smaller than that, so how it failed to detect something that large is hard to understand.Failure two: once it tangled in the toy, the vacuum made no attempt to stop or shut itself down. Instead, it continued running until it literally ripped the side brush off the robot. That brush then became lodged in the main brush roller and cut large slits into it, destroying both parts.Failure three: Ecovacs customer service refused to help. I provided photos, proof of purchase, and detailed explanations of what happened. Despite a clear product failure after only a week of use, they would not replace the damaged parts or stand behind their product.This is unacceptable for a $1,000 robot vacuum. A product at this price point should not destroy its own components after one week of regular use, and a company selling a premium product should stand behind it when something clearly goes wrong.Buyers considering a premium robot vacuum should pay very close attention to how a company responds when something fails this quickly.Extremely disappointed. I will be returning this vacuum and switching to another brand.Update: I considered changing this from 1 to 2 stars, but still can’t justify it.I bought generic replacement brushes and kept using the vacuum. To its credit, it did a great job on my hardwood floors. The mopping function worked well and left the floors feeling cleaner than ever.Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) on the last day of my 30-day return window, it failed again. It didn’t recognize an obstacle, ran over a plastic bracelet, and started making a loud clicking noise. It destroyed the main brush roller for the second time.I figured I would just be more careful about clearing the floors in the future. But after removing the obstruction and replacing the roller, the vacuum started giving a “bumper stuck” error and would not continue cleaning.I tried tapping the bumper, checking for debris, and even doing a factory reset. Nothing worked. The robot is now completely unusable.
