Works fine ... but arrived sticky?
Packaging was acceptable and the item is fine and gets the job done. I got it for retro game restoration, for reference. It opened some game cartridges with no issues... but when it arrived I had to clean it with alcohol because it had a sticky residue on it. Maybe it was just lubricate from manufacturing or something, as I've never bought a new tool before but I thought I'd note it.

useful product I'm glad I bought it
I like to work on nintendo stuff for a hobby and before I bought this if I wanted to open game boy games, I had to melt down plastic pencils and pens which barely worked and damaged the games. I stopped being cheap and bought one of these and it works so much better and doesn't destroy the games! To those who collect/fix older nintendo stuff, particularly game boy cartridges, go ahead and buy one of these it's totally worth it in the long run.

Works great, doesnt chew up the heads of screws, can be used without a screwdriver handle
Works just as expected. I don't even use a screwdriver with it because I can just hand turn it. It doesn't chew up the screws on cartridges, but it grips the screws enough that you can open even the most grimey of carts. I had a game that was covered in sticky dried cola and I was able to easily open it and clean it.

A must buy tool for any Retro Nintendo Gamer
This 3.8mm security Bit Screwdriver is the perfect tool when you need to clean or replace the dead batteryon your NES, SNES, N64, GB, GBC, and VB game carts. Nintendo put the special security screws on theirgame carts because they want you to buy a whole new game rather than easily replacing the batteries. The tool can be used alone with your hand or inserted onto a handle bit. I was finally able to remove the securityscrews on my gold Zelda OOT cart and check the battery. The battery was brand new, the seller didn't realize the+ metal contact was not making any contact with the battery so I put some electrical tape between the battery andcontact and now the game saves great. This tool is a mandatory tool to own if you need to clean or replace thebatteries in your NES, SNES, N64, GB, GBC, and VB carts.

Maybe I got a bad one, or they repackaged one and sent me a badly worn and used one, but whatever the case, my screw is junk
Not sure if I got a bad bit, but this thing looks pretty rusted on the inside, and feels highly de-threaded. While unscrewing a GB Game, it slips for a good five seconds while I push it in harder just to get a grip on the bit. It no longer grips on certain games screws either :\Just gonna deal with it, as I feel like sending it back and getting a new one will cost even more for me than it's worth.

Exactly as described.
This is a 3.8 mm security bit that will allow you to get past that pesky bit on old game cartridges. I've been using it frequently during the past few months. No durability issues. Pretty helpful in restoring my old games! As far as I know, this will work with the NES, SNES, N64, and Gameboy cartridges. I've heard this also works with Virtual Boy and Game Gear cartridges, but I have neither or those to confirm. This will not work with GBA cartridges, as those cartridges use a Tri-wing screw. Also just in case, if you're looking for something to open your SNES or N64 system, don't get this. Look for a 4.5 mm security bit tool.

A Must Have for a Pokemon Game Collector
I first had a dead battery in my copy of Silver, and I had to pay another person to replace the battery. By using this tool, I can charge my own friends to replace their batteries, and I can change out my own batteries in every Pokemon GB/GBC/N64 game I own and more. I opened my copy of Silver to find out the method used for changing its battery, and I did the same for my copy of Yellow that is in current need of a battery. Later, I plan to do the same to Stadium (one and two ENG) and Red. I also helped with my brother's copy of Gold, and I can help with his version of Yellow and Blue. I love this tool. No solder required (refer to YouTube GBC).
