Can’t wait to see my brother open this gift!
I love the color and how when you pull out the hidding pages, the English part changed Pinyin. I speak Mandarin fine. I can read and write them. I bought this for my baby brother. It’s mainly for him because my mom wants him to learn Mandarin as first language and speak it fluently like me and my sister. And my baby brother love books. He would choose books over his toys. And my mom is learning Mandarin. My mom actually can read this book since she knows Pinyin, so it’ll be a great book to read with my brother when I’m away(I have only seen my mom reading books to him so..). The only thing with the book is that there’s a grey mark on the last pulling page and there’s a small, bend mark. And I couldn’t pull out the last page. I tried to figure out what’s wrong with it. When I got it out, I realize part of the pull out page might have got glued to the hardcover part is glued with the pocket pages. Anyway, it’s a great book. The issue might not be with every book, so I do recommend this book as a bilingual.Personal: The pinyin zi is missing an accent mark, and some other words too. Like mao mao chong, one of the mao didn’t have an accent mark. There’s some words like this too, but I can fix it. For me, cheese is Zhi Shi, but qi si is another way to say cheese, so that’s fine. T shirt could just be T xu, the shan is not needed, but not wrong either. I never heard of tu liao for paint, it’s always yan liao. Perhaps, it’s another name at a different region of China. Tablet didn’t need to be too long, a shorter way to say it is ping ban (personal preference). TV can just be dian shi. But I know some places do say dian shi ji. I would still teach my brother with my preferences since that’s how my friends and I talk. But the translations are all correct and it really comes down to preferences.

Awesome book to learn basic Chinese words - children and adults!
My baby is an ABC (American born Chinese) but I want him to learn Chinese because that will surely be useful. This book helps him learn the basics. I have been looking for a book like this and this is my favorite one so far. I love that there are Mandarin characters as well as pin yin. I don’t know all my Chinese characters so for some words I’m going off on the pinyin as well - so mama and baby are both learning from this book! I highly recommend this book. I hope this author keeps making more of these as I would buy every one of them for my baby to learn!

5 star book for little Chinese learners
Great book to learn basic Chinese words. I created a hearbook with it and the Chameleon reader so my little 3 yo half Chinese boy can read and learn by himself. Very cute and big pictures that keeps him interested a long time.
