Super desk for the money. Clean, zero noise channels. The compressor sounds great on vocals. A great selection of nice sounding effects that can be adjusted to suit the song.

Having been a fan of Yamaha hi-fi separates and musical instruments for many years I had high hopes for this product. IAM not disappointed it is superb. Currently being used to mix Vocal and acoustic guitar with backing tracks and the sound is amazing. The inputs are noiseless the whole layout is very intuitive. My only criticism is the manual is a bit light on information however there are literally dozens of videos on YOUTUBE which really help. Including one guy who has rented Yamaha MG10 mixers out for professional services over 5,000 times and never had an issue with one. I wholeheartedly recommend this excellent product.

I’ve been using it for 2 weeks now in a home studio environment in a setting to record sound meditation sessions. (Gongs, singing bowls, chimes etc.)I find the effect function very useful to create lovely reverb effects during recording.The only issue with it is that if you wanna use it as a USB mixer to send the signal to your computer you might have issues. The output signal on the USB port isn’t loud enough. I have read many forums about that and it’s a common problem with these mixers. I had to add an additional audio interface to it to get a strong enough signal on the computer.Apart from that it’s a great piece of kit!

I recently upgraded my PA system to a powered system and decided to purchase a smaller mixer having been using a dynacord 1000 mk3 . I have an old version of a Yamaha desk with effects but thought I’d go for this new version with usb connectivity .1. It’s noisy and I mean noisy and hissy . The dynacord is far superior in every way and it’s completely silent .2. The effects are pants as a singer I need good effects I have a boss VE20 which is superb the dynacord 5 55 is fantastic. This Yamaha the effects sound naff .3. The usb interconnectivity meant that I had to turn my laptop output down to around 10 percent volume to be able to use the fader properly .4. The compression is a waste of time .5. All in all I’ve had a lot of Yamaha gear over the years including some top end studio gear for me this desk was not in the same ballpark at all .I’ve now bought a boss gigcaster 8 which is simply fantastic . This desk might work ok for a karaoke jock etc but as a consummate professional that cares about my sound it’s a thumbs down probably due to the fact that the dynacord which I’m so used to is so fantastic . The boss stuff leaves this standing as well . So for me it’s a big no this is an honest review based on my personal experience of trying and using this desk . I returned it !!!

Value for money

Being used for church Zoom services, and will be used to mix live services in church as well, plus live streaming to Zoom. So far it fits the bill very well.

Wish I came with the USB cable but otherwise works as advertised.
