$AVE THOUSAND$!!! Buy this wedge pillow Instead of an adjustable bed!
This wedge pillow is just right! It has a very firm structure for excellent support, while the memory foam layer provides great comfort. To have good support all the way up to your neck and the back of your head, you need a good-sized wedge like this one. Before you select a wedge pillow, be sure to pay attention to the measurements. I'm just under 5โ 10โ and this one works great for me. Changing the angle of the pillow gives you the two most-used positions on an expensive adjustable bed. In the โsitting upโ position, I use a standard pillow for lumbar support - the same thing I did on an adjustable bed, but thousands of dollars cheaper! Two of these wedge pillows will allow you and your partner to choose for yourselves whether you want to sit up or recline. If you were sharing a full, queen, or king-sized adjustable bed, you and your partner would have to agree on the angle you want to use (like that's ever going to happen.) Want to hear a really scary bedtime story? The sleep store salesmanโs solution to the angle disagreement problem is for you to buy TWO twin long adjustable beds - which, of course, cost even more than one King size adjustable bed! And what will you get? You will get a big fat crack between your twin extra-long adjustable beds that is very uncomfortable to sleep on. If you have hard floors, you may even get a crack that will widen to a chasm that you can fall down as the two adjustable beds slide apart. Plus, you will also have to spend way more money on your linens because two sets of extra-long twin sheets cost waaay more than one set of King sheets. Then comes a time when you have owned your twin extra-long adjustable beds for less than a year, and one of your remotes (the thing you have to use to make the adjustable bed go up and down) suddenly stops working, and you find out that there is no way to flatten out the bed without the remote. So you learn to enjoy sleeping in a sitting position until the adjustable bed company ships you a replacement for over $40. And the friendly customer service person at the adjustable bed company tells you, โYes, this is all part of routine maintenance - owning an adjustable bed is like owning a car.โ NOW you tell me! Listen to the voice of experience - Skip the adjustable bed and buy yourself a pair of these wedge pillows. You will save enough money to treat yourself to a beautiful hardwood bed frame. Epilogue - we did at least avoid paying thousands for a pair of bottom of the line twin extra-long mattresses at the local sleep store. Instead, we ordered a pair of twin extra-long mattresses from tuft & needle on Amazon. We have been sleeping on them every single night for two and a half years and they are the best mattresses we have ever owned! We just wish that we had bought a king. In order to live with what we have, we have now purchased king size sheets. The king contour sheet holds the twin mattresses together, preventing continental drift. In order to head off another breakdown, where we find ourselves sleeping sitting up, we make very minimal use of the adjustable height - hence our purchase of this wonderful and wonderfully-affordable wedge pillow. One of these days we will send these ridiculous adjustable beds to the junkyard, buy ourselves a nice hardwood bed frame, plus a tuft & needle king size mattress, and live happily ever after. Except, to tell the truth, we have so very much to be thankful for that we're happy already. Sleep tight and God bless!

I'd read that a wedge pillow is really useful, so I started shopping around
I purchased this as my mastectomy date was approaching because I knew I wouldn't be able to lay flat for a while -- ESPECIALLY with the expander in... OUCH! Those dang things hurt, and I've needed to be at an angle, at least. I'd read that a wedge pillow is really useful, so I started shopping around. I liked the description for this one (with it's memory foam top and extra-cushiony feel) and the reviews seemed to support what the seller claimed. It has worked really well for me! I've used it downstairs on the chaise lounge section of our sectional couch (I removed the sofa's own back cushion, and placed my wedge pillow right up against the back of the couch and settled right in) and it was REALLY comfortable. I was able to rest and recover and watch tv that way. Also, each night, my partner would carry it upstairs for me and I put it against our bed's headboard for bedtime. It has made laying down and getting back up SO much easier in my compromised condition. And I can confirm that the pillow is in fact super comfortable! It's just firm enough that it supports you when you lay back (so that your back isn't sinking into it and causing back pain), but it's still really cushiony and soft (so that it doesn't feel as though I'm laying on a hard surface). The only downside of this sleeping arrangement for me is that I am NOT a back sleeper, so I'm so uncomfortable all night that insomnia has been a serious issue. But that's not the fault of the pillow at all - that's the fault of this crappy. situation I find myself in that has forced me to sleep in a position that does not work for me. The reason I bother even adding that part is to say, again, that despite how much I hate sleeping on my back and in an upright position all night, the pillow itself has been a lifesaver. Because whether I like it or not, that's the position I have to sleep in right now, and at least I have a really comfy pillow to do so with. One more thing to address: I noticed, when I was reading reviews for this product, that several people mentioned that you don't quite stay all the way up on the pillow through the night. And I will echo what others have said - a difficult, frustrating issue is the sliding down through the night. I have to reposition and scoot myself up *multiple* times a night. BUT... Do I think that's the fault of the pillow? No. That sounds like a pretty logical gravity issue. Physics. ๐ *shrug* Overall, I got great use out of this pillow. I recommend it if you - for whatever reason - need or want to lay in a more upright position.

This works for me, but with some considerations.
2/26/16 - Update to review below: I thought I'd add a comment. This wedge pillow would have worked better if it had different heights to experiment with AND if it were wider by about 6" (my arms tended to drop over the edges). I have since donated this pillow, as I have purchased a bed with an adjustable mattress that not only raises to whatever level I want, but also can raise my knees too. This pillow convinced me that I needed that bed, and now that I have it, I am ecstatic. Bottom line, this wedge pillow is a good stair step to seeing if you can benefit from an adjustable bed. That alone made it well worth the cost. Original review starts here: First, the smell everybody talks about. It is very smelly when you open it. As suggested, I took off the cover, and then let it set in a large open room to "air out". The instructions say "a couple of days". I let it set a week, flipping it a couple of times over that period. It still smelled some, but was much improved over day 1 and 2. I then put the cover back on, and set it up on my bed. I found it to be comfortable, and the right height for me. Some people said in their reviews they had problems with their arms getting uncomfortable because they would slide off the sides as it's somewhat narrow. I did not have that problem, even though I am a hefty person. Some also said that they had problems sliding down it in the middle of the night, thus making their back hurt in the morning. I did not have this problem. I think, for me, I know the reason why. My mattress is a Temper-Pedic. Because it's so firm, I simply do not slide at all. I used to use a Select Comfort, but I bet that would be an issue as with air mattresses in general, if you apply too much weight in one area, you hit bottom. So I would bet I would slide on one of those. Now as for quality of sleep. For me, I find I can sleep about 4 hours on it and then I have to set it aside and finish up my sleep flat, as I am a side sleeper. While I could sleep on my left side, anyway, on this wedge, I suspect I might pay for it later, as I think that could stress areas in the spine that should not be stressed. It seemed comfortable to lay that way, on my left side, for perhaps 10 minutes, but I would prefer not to take a chance on that. The good side is that while I am sleeping with the wedge, I no longer snore, and I don't have to wake up to go to the can, which is interesting. (snoring is usually co-existent with sleep apnea, which I have... the body will trigger a false bathroom call signal if you are not getting enough oxygen... when I'm laying flat, I get woke up with this trigger signal every 2 hours... with the wedge, I have yet to wake up with that signal occurring for as much as 5 hours. And, when I do wake up, I don't actually have to go at all. I just have the desire to lay flat, so I can side sleep, ergo, 1/2 the night with the wedge, 1/2the night without it.) About the only downside I have experienced is that because the wedge is made pretty much like my mattress, it does get warm if you stay in the same spot for a long time, as in 4-5 hours. This is part of the reason I set it aside for the rest of the night, as my back says to me, "I'm hot. Give me air." At the same time, the upside is I have ZERO back pain from using the wedge. I always have some back pain from sleeping flat. (but NO WHERE near as much back pain as I had with inner spring mattresses or water beds! A side note... the Select Comfort also gave me no back pain, but strangely, I got knee pain... remember, I said I am a side sleeper... that combined with my size, caused my body to sink into the Select Comfort mattress just far enough that my knee that is towards the mattress gets hyper-extended sidewise, and that HURTS! This was the ONLY reason I switched to the current mattress.)

Nothing but good to say about the Wedge
I must have received an an entirely different product that the ones received by the negative reviewers. There is a very mild chemical smell, yes. But it disapates quickly if you put the wedge outside to air while it is expanding. It takes only a few hours to expand. I received my wedge at 4:45 PM, opened it, put it outside, and the brought it in and slept on it that night at 9:30 PM. No offensive smell, and expanded to almost full size. After five hours, the height was up to 11 out of its full 12 inches. I did agonize over whether to get the 12" or the 7.5" version. I am so glad I got the full 12" one. Here's my story. I developed a severe hip problem about two months ago and am now getting ready for hip replacement surgery in a month. I am a lifelong side-sleeper and absolutely cannot sleep on my back. The bad hip makes side sleeping way beyond painful, so for the past two months I have been sleeping in my recliner chair. Not the best night's sleep, but better than not sleeping at all by lying in my bed flat on my back, Since I was going to need to buy a wedge after surgery to elevate my legs a few times a day, I decided to get the wedge now, and see if it might work for sleeping in bed. It does! If I sit right at the leading edge of the wedge, the 12" wedge elevates my torso at a very comfortable 25 degree angle. This takes pressure off my hip and allows me to sleep more comfortably than I do in my recliner. What I do to achieve maximum comfort is to use my pillow for my head and then use two king size pillows on either side of me so I am sort of craddled into a nest of sorts. If I want less than the 25 degree angle, all I have to do is scoot my butt down a little further from the edge of wedge to achieve less of an incline. So now I am able to sleep comfortably in my bed again, and I am sure that the wedge will serve me perfectly after surgery. I highly recommend this product. Unless you have hypersensitivity to the chemicals used in creating the foam, you should strongly consider this.

Steep incline, very firm
I purchased this pillow due to suffering from severe nausea in the morning caused by acid reflux. The pillow itself is definitely made of excellent quality material, and is of great use if I want to sit up in bed to read or play games, or to prop up my legs. For me however, it is near impossible to sleep on. The incline is just too steep, I literally slide off of it as I sleep! It is also way too firm for me to comfortably lay on and it bends my hips in awful ways since I am a side sleeper. I unfortunately cannot sleep on my back due to bad episodes of sleep paralysis, so this did not turn out as a great option for me. If you are a side sleeper, I would consider other options, or a pillow with a lower incline. As others have said, it DOES have a very strong smell, but it will dissipate. When you get the pillow, take it out of the bag ASAP and let it air out. If you have a window you can safely put it near, let it get some fresh air for the day and it should take care of a good amount of the smell. Removing and washing the cover also helps a bunch. The first night it did give me a bit of a headache even still, but it got better over time. That said, this would make a great pillow for surgery recovery, especially if you can't get yourself out of bed but you don't want to sleep in an arm chair.

Love this Pillow!
This pillow is better than anticipated. Unfortunately for both me and my boyfriend- I snore. Recently I came down with a really nasty chest cold and was only able to breath properly at night when propped up on my on my armed lounge pillow. Amazingly, we also discovered that being propped up like that had the wonderful side effect of quelling my snoring (which even a specially made anti-snoring mouth guard from the dentist couldn't fix). The lounge pillow worked for awhile but I was unable to sleep on my side with it and I would wake up with my head on the mattress after having slid down the the pillow through the night. After some research- I found this wedge pillow and thought it seemed like the best option for the price and comfort level. I'm so happy I made that purchase! Out of the shipping box it came totally rolled up into a long tube shape with tape and plastic wrap . I was a little disappointed to find that the paper it came with said to let it re-shape and air out the foam smell for 48hrs before I could use the thing. However, I'm glad that I did. The smell went away and the shape firmed up. It's a rather large pillow, but doesn't take up more than the amount of space a normal pillow would use width-wise. There is some sliding down the pillow while asleep, but I always wake up still on the pillow and I have a headboard on my my bed so I never have issues with it sliding off my mattress. I have a cooling gel and memory foam pillow that I put on top of the wedge which keeps my neck from hurting. I don't have any issues with the wedge flattening out when I lay on it. It's really solid and the memory foam on top is a nice touch of comfort. The removable pillow case around the wedge is nice and soft, but I know you can buy another type of case if you don't like the feel of the one it comes with. I just can't say enough nice things about this pillow. Snoring is a big issue for me I'm really happy that I was able to find something so simple to help me. I would totally recommend this to anyone looking for a wedge pillow for any reason.

Life (Sleep) Saver
This wedge pillow is a life saver. I noticed that my wife was more and more often, not making it through the night in bed. I would find her on the couch because she would get up in the middle of the night not being able to breath. It took two nights to get used to the pillow but now she has been sleeping through the whole night in bed using this pillow. I can not stress how much this has impacted our lives positively. Without good sleep nothing is going to be right. We where afraid that the 12 inch would be too much of an angle and debated for some time. At this price we decided enough was enough and took a gamble. And it sure paid off. This pillow is perfect for her and she even uses it with a regular pillow on top of it and the angle is not too severe. I wish we had gotten it ages ago since the results are so positive. After using this pillow she has dramatically reduced the amount of times she has had to use an inhaler during the middle of the night! That alone is worth the price of this pillow. While the cover that the pillow comes with is very nice the seller also sells a separate cover. Or the pillow in the other cover. While it might cost more total I suggest you buy this pillow and the optional cover separate. That way the pillow has a semi permanent cover over the foam and a washable cover to go over it. As some people state the optional cover is slightly over sized. With one wash its perfect and works great over the original cover. From other reviews I thought that the separate cover might be really over sized. But I stress its only slightly over sized which is a good thing as you can do double covers as I am suggesting Side note: This pillow will work great for other recreational uses too and a lot cheaper then other wedge pillows are intended for that kind of use that are much more expensive... Just an added benefit. If you found anything helpful in this review, I would appreciate you taking the time to click so below! Thanks!

InteVisionFoamWedgeBedPillow25x24x12>Really25x24x4WithEther'sSmell
InteVision Foam Wedge Bed Pillow 25x24x12:- Absolutely junk-never buy! It arrived rolled & their foam has ~0= ~No Memory-so this pillow is practically arch-bent wavy-FLAT: 25x24x4 / 25x24x0.6 [inches, wedge ~4"H,~0.6"h] ! Who tells anti-allergenic? -It smells like chemical~ (-SO3) -ether! They rolled it like under pressure!-& how long they did keep it rolled-pressured?- ~No memory lefts! Foam is soft - not firm. What acid reflux deal could be on a flat pillow?! I did buy two of them - so I put both in the same pillow-case,- at least to have something more wedge than flat. I put it close to my powerful air-purifier with HEPA- & activated carbon filters. For how long should it stay there before (-SO3)-ether's smell go away?- I hope - sooner than later. That smell is probably from those genius / idiots who packed pillows rolled-pressed & put two pillows in so big cardboard box - roomy with plenty of space - that they could easily put them freely '69'-way without 'roll & pressure & spray' their stinky ether. - It's very difficult to stay on my truth = what I'd witnessed - versus about 900 opinions in already published reviews on Amazon.com. Update of this info: Polyethylene of the package is very smelly- ether-like smell, so I just did order next day delivery & unpacked shipment very quickly & did throw away-outdoors that stinky wrap,- expedited next day delivery also got this pillow's foam to regain its original shape& size in ~ 1 hour in compare with 2 days delivery (- in 3 days; I'd 3 different delivery-times - first one was longer than 2 days because 2 business days included week-ends, - then my first two pillows' "memory" foam did only partially regained their shape & size (~1/2) to approx. half of original size in about 3 days - so I did put two pillows in one case - so the "doubled" pillow has approx. the original size of one pillow & works fine & also the longer than 2 days delivery time did take about 5 days to ventilate away the ether-like smell from package-wrap when I put pillows & their cases separately close to my powerful HEPA & activated-carbon-filter air-purifier - for these 5 days my kitchen was very smelly - I didn't at first recognize that this ether-like smell's source was from polyethylene wrap which should be thrown away outdoors as soon as possible,- these guys who wrapped these pillows with stinky polyethylene are either idiots or hate their customers. Probably before been wrapped these pillows were non-allergenic but after - definitely not. After I ventilated the next-day-delivered pillow long enough the small practically disappeared & it's probably non-allergenic again but I'm not a judge to say that. So be aware to have over-night delivery & to unpack smelly wrap & throw wrap outdoors-away as soon as possible - the longer the pillow & polyethylene wrap are together the harder & longer you have to ventilate pillow & its case separately near HEPA+Carbon-filter-air-purifier. My last experience with next day delivery I could rate as 4 stars to this pillow in condition to take all precautions to get rid of smell & for pillow to regain original shape & size.
