The Big Trail, The/North To Alaska/Comancheros, The/Undefeated

I love all the movies except for having to dig out a selection in the stack of four DVDs in one case.

They are John Wayne classics. Nuff said!

I bought this for The Comancheros, which I knew to be great fun from earlier viewings and it didn't disappoint. The big surprise was North Alaska, which I hadn't seen in decades and was far more enjoyable than I remembered; Capucine and John Wayne has a chemistry I didn't remember (and wouldn't have predicted). The Big Trail is a landmark early talkie, dated but interesting. The only weak link is The Undefeated, but I knew that going in, and even that has a few good lines along the way.

These John Wayne movies are great. The Big Trail is the first movie that Marion Michael Morrison (born Marion Robert Morrison) was called John Wayne. It is also the first big time movie that he starred in. The Big Trail is special in many ways. The other movies are good movies too, so if your a John Wayne fan you will enjoy this collection.

I have watched John Wayne for years. Used to be my dad's and my favorite Saturday night doing with popcorn. I've lost my dad but hang on too special times spent. Loved this tape.

First, this is a great collection to have, if you don't have any of these titles. There are four disks in their respectful movies case, which are in slim cases. The Big Trail was made in 1930 with two disks, to chose between Widescreen or Fullscreen format and is in very good quality. The other three films were made between the 60s and only offer Widescreen formant. Besides John Wayne, these films star: Rock Hudson, Tyrone Power, Stuart Whitman, Lee Marvin, Stewart Granger, Tony Agular and Ben Johnson. This is a must have for any Western, John Wayne or old movie fans. I would recommend this.

I bought this set as a Christmas gift for my dad. I was never a fan of the old John Wayne western movies, but my dad loves westerns and I'm sure he'll love this set and enjoy sitting down and watching the movies. I give it 5 stars on his behalf because I know he will love watching them.
