Solid brand and quality
We've been in our house for 20 years and frankly these sorts of devices simply wear out over time. They are must have to keep your family safe and I've used this brand consistently and it works great.

Tested fine right out of the box. Comes with a battery. Good Brand Name.
The inclusion of a 9V battery right out of the box is a thoughtful touch. It gives me peace of mind knowing that the detector is ready to go, and the added battery backup ensures continuous protection even during power outages. I tested the detector when it arrived, and everything checked out. The ease of setup and the immediate functionality straight out of the box impressed me. The clear instructions provided made the installation process a breeze. As a consumer, the First Alert brand has always been synonymous with reliability and trust. This CO detector is no exception. It reinforces my confidence in the brand, and I appreciate the commitment to delivering high-quality products that prioritize safety... at a reasonable price. The white design seamlessly blends with my home decor, making it unobtrusive. The compact size ensures it doesn't take up much space. In summary, the First Alert CO605 Carbon Monoxide Detector is a stellar product that offers peace of mind, reliability, and ease of use. I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a top-notch carbon monoxide detector. Five stars โ well deserved!

As per my research This is a UL Certified it meets US safety standards
Read this if you want to save your time reading the too much info in the manual. Its overwhelming. This kind of stuff there should be a separate manual that features only the important instruction. - first and foremost 4 star only coz I wanted to buy the 3 pcs pack but good thing Ive read some comments with same complaints that they bought 3 pcs but they received only 1 pc. That must be a hassle and inconvenient to raise a complaint so I just bought 2 separate item and I am planning to buy another 2. - REASON WHY I BOUGHT THIS BECAUSE IVE READ: that First Alert is a reputable brand known for fire and CO safety products. Battery Backup: Works during power outages essential for 24/7 protection. Easy to install, no hardwiring needed. And the most important is it is "UL Certified" it Meets safety standards set by Underwriters Laboratories. Compared to other co detectors in amazon. These certifications mean the CO detector: โขHas passed rigorous, standardized safety tests โขWill reliably detect dangerous levels of carbon monoxide โขWonโt give false alarms or miss actual danger And when you buy this whether u like it or not you have to put the battery first and plug it. Coz if you dont put the battery and just plug it directly there will be a chirp sound every 30 seconds or so, and I found out thats an indication you need to install the battery. My bad I did not read the manual coz it overwhelms me a lot coz its too much to read for a supposed to be direct instructions only. So I tested my 2 first alert and it works. And you have to test it at least once a week. How I know this really works? I dont know I just have to trust the brand. And not wishing to have CO leak in our house. But this will bring us peace of mind knowing we have a CO detector at home esp so many sad cases about co leak in the house and people die. BE CAREFUL Y'ALL!

Inexpensive peace of mind
It's a "gotta have it" protection necessary when you live in an older home. Too bad they only last 5+ years but, they're inexpensive and worth the peace of mind.

They officially worked
We officially had one of these go off in our house today. It took us by surprise and honestly at first we assumed one broke or was malfunctioning, but we moved another one and the same room and after a couple minutes, that one also went off. We called the fire department and once they came in, their sensors immediately went off. These did their job. Iโm so glad I purchased these, and Iโm about to buy another pack of 3 for more placements around the house.
