Animorphs #46 (with nerdy analysis!)
We've all been waiting for this. Finally the war is really going to start. Out in the open. Win or lose, we're in it for keeps. When I was reading this, the people at my work were teasing me for reading children's books. I was dead serious when I told them off. These books are so far beyond the quality of so many adult books that I just want to laugh in their faces.Notable moments and inconsistencies:This book is ghostwritten by Elise Smith.Ax points out how "humans are an odd species" because they can change their minds on a moral issue very quickly. It's odd he suggests this is a human quality, because he and other Andalites have done the same thing. Surely he can't be unaware that Andalites also display hypocrisy?Ax mentions having a vague hope of returning to the Andalite home world after the war on Earth, and entertains notions of starting a family with Estrid. Problem here is that in a previous book he was pretty clear about "not liking" her after some of the things she said about humans, even if he found her attractive. This might not be completely contradictory since people do fall in love with and marry people they don't much like, but it doesn't seem like Ax would want to start a family and raise children with someone who thought it was okay to screw over another species because "they're not us."It's odd that Rachel would be chosen to be Ax's backup pilot on account of her "nerves of steel" when both Marco and Jake have more experience with flight simulation. Rachel might be brave but she doesn't have experience. This book mentions again that Andalites have two hearts, further establishing that an earlier book made a mistake when suggesting that Andalites have three.Rachel uses thought-speak while in her human morph, which is something all of them should be able to do anyway, but earlier books suggest that they cannot. This retcon makes more sense. It seems ridiculous that Chapman is able to disable Ax and render him unconscious, but then only locks him in a room. Seems much more likely that Chapman should have infested him immediately as that would have given him a morph-capable body and all the "bandits'" knowledge. Instead he leaves him in a room by himself where his natural form can easily escape. That is some poor decision-making.

Wow, it's getting better and better
Previously on Animorphs: (The Revelation, #45) Marco told his father the truth about the Animorphs and Yeerks. Visser One returned to Earth. The Animorphs were able to destroy the Yeerk, Edris 562 and free Marco's mother who was its host. She tells them that Visser One was sent to build the Anati defenses and to draw the Andalite fleet, which will be destroyed on arrival by Dracon beams located on all of the moons. At Present: (The Deception, #46): The Animorphs manage to contact the Andalite world, to warn them. Now, Visser Two arrives on Earth, and he' not happy about the state of things. He decides the best way to take over Earth is to have humans destroy everything the Yeerks don't need. He decides to start World War III. The Animorphs have only two choices: Find a way to stop the war. Or, find a way to stop him...forever...Next on Animorphs: (The Resistance, #47) The Animorphs have to make an important decision: Do they continue to fight the Yeerks in secret, or is it time to let the world know of the Yeerks and the Animorphs? And: Jake's beginning to really feel all the preasure. He's supposed to be strong, when he feels just the opposite. And if he starts to lose it, he know the Animorphs are done for...

Not as great as #45, but still awesome.
The Animorphs believed that when they contacted the Andalite home world, at least some of their troubles would be over. But their salvation is not coming from the Andalites, at least not anytime soon. The Andalite forces believe the Animorphs have ulterior motives in warning them of a Yeerk trap, and refuse to come to their aid. So the Animorphs are still on their own. When they learn the Yeerks plan to start World War III, a nuclear war that will leave most the civilized world in ruins, they begin a desperate race against time. The fate of the entire world hangs in the balance as the Animorphs attempt to stop the Yeerks. And even if the Yeerks are stopped, will the cost be greater than it was worth? I really love this new story arc in the current Animorphs books, and can't wait to read #47.

Came as advertised.
The book arrived packaged really well, sandwiched between two hard boards as this is a soft cover book. It was as described. And had all the hallmarks of the Animorphs books a hold for the head of the last transformation stage on the cover and the bottom left corner had the transformation animation. The books was a bit shorter than the rest of my collection but that could be due to region? Or publication batch maybe? Otherwise when compared to the online version of the book, it's verbatim. Love it!

Different but well done
This one really made me think about consequences and morality. The ending was a bit abrupt and did not have closure, but I liked seeing a different side of Ax
