Love the horizontal design, the magnetic top is genius. Had a soapstone model with hinges that gave way and cracked at the hinges. Very well throughout design and built in storage drawer sealed the deal as well as the incredible and beautiful craftsmanship and design. Love it ! No mess no fuss. Take unit off the table remove lid and dump ashes.Perfection. Wish they offered one in White hand crafted Soapstone.

The magnets are so discreet and incredibly strong; they have the ability to support the entire weight of the box- but at the same time release delicately and easy. They cause the lid and side opening to close so seamlessly you would never know where or how to open it! Carving intricate and super detailed. Definitely added it to my "I don't know what to give someone for a gift" list. If you or they enjoy incense, I can't see how you wouldn't love it. In fact, I am ordering another for a "Thank You" gift to my realtor as well as another for my boyfriend's sister's birthday.

Nice solid wood, deep well for ash. Would buy again!

Great design idea but craftsmanship is cheap for the price tag

The product is Beautiful and packaged well. I really like the intention behind the product but it does have a few areas that could use some improvement. It does not come with any pre drilled holes to hang the incense from. It’s intended to just lay in the unit on top of the fire resistant matting. I was able to drill a hole and that has worked for me. Also while handling the lid, one of the edges starter coming apart. I applied some glue, taped it together and left it overnight and it seems to be just fine. If you aren’t able to make these repairs in the chance that yours comes in this condition I would suggest finding a different incense burner.

I ordered this as a gift but like it so much I'm planning to order one for my own home. It's beautifully crafted so it adds a lovely and peaceful touch to the room, but more importantly, it perfectly solves the problems of ash collection and incense storage. Stick incense is stored in the base, and then can be lit and laid inside the box on a heatproof pad. The smoke is then diffused through the beautifully carved lattice-work top. No worries about knocking it over, spilling ash, or making a mess. Beautiful, practical, perfect.

The best incense holder I've owned. Japanese incense just lays on the fire proof mat and gentle wisps of smoke rise out the lid. The drawer is useful for storage. Cleanup us a snap- you just knock the mat over the trash or toilet. Resins in the smoke will discolor the lid over a long period of use. Unfortunately there's a yoga design on the lid that is distracting, trendy, and oddly idiosyncratic. This holder and box combo would make a great travel piece.

This arrived in a beautiful box as pictured. The lid fit perfectly on the box. The drawer to hold incense sticks is kind of like a hidden drawer as it closes flush with the box. The lower part of the box has some weight to it. There is the fireproof matt to hold the incense while it burns. This will be a gift so I have not tested it by burning incense sticks but the length would hold shorter incense sticks rather than long incense sticks. I am totally satisfied.
