Best bariatric cookbook
I have bought 6 different cookbooks for bariatric cooking and this one is the best. The others didn't do low calorie and portion size was 3 times what I can eat. This one is low calorie and high protein. Portions are right on the mark. The recipes are delicious.

Great for a healthy lifestyle
This cookbook is wonderful. It is very similar (adaptable) to my doctors/nutritionist’s guidelines. Having the nutrition breakdown by serving is a must! I am a new cook so photos would have been helpful but it is still great.

Riddled with inconsistencies
The recipes look good, but it doesn't really offer very "high-protein" options for the early diet stages. She calculates the nutrition based on a larger serving than you would be able to eat in that stage. For example if 1c of the recipe has 24g of protein, but the serving in the puree stage is 1/4c - that's only actually 6g of protein. The thing that really enraged me, though, is her use of inconsistent units of measurements. Sure, it can be converted, but 1/2 c is the same as 8 tbsp, so why not just use the SAME units? Also there's at least one recipe that provides a range for the serving size, but doesn't tell you which end of that range they provided the nutrition information for. This book desperately needs an edit. If it was one or two recipes, I might understand. Mistakes happen, but the amount of inconsistencies in just one chapter is egregious.Skip this book and get The Gastric Sleeve Bariatric Cookbook by Sarah Kent instead.

Useful
After bariatric surgery, my wife meal prepped and did shakes in advance. This made it so much easier.
