## Questions & Answers

**Q: How difficult is it to transport (get in and out of truck) and get in and out of the water?**
A: No, it's not difficult. It's time consuming, but what boat isn't when it's time to launch or recover it?. The Colorado Pontoon boat weighs about 75 pounds. The newer models come with a transport wheel. I've had mine since the summer of 2005. It's easy to put together and take apart and, when disassembled, it fits right in with your camping gear in the back of your truck. I often take mine to lakes where I can back my Jeep up to within a few feet of the waters' edge. That way I can inflate, assemble, deflate, disassemble ,and recover it with no problem. I recommend a high volume electric or manual pump for easiest inflation. I personally use an electric , high volume air pump that plugs into the rear power port on my Jeep.

**Q: can it handle class 2 an 3 rapids?...also can it handle shallow rocky waters?**
A: First thing I would do is replace the oar locks with Scotty oar locks ( http://www.amazon.com/Scotty-Strongback-Lock-Pair-Pack/dp/B001M4HTCA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1421029285&sr=8-1&keywords=scotty+oar+locks )....no chance of breaking those and loosing an oar. This boat will have no issue with class 2 water and the pontoons are tough enough to slide over rocks in shallow water. However, for class 3 ...I would replace all of the pins that hold the frame together with stainless steel bolts and lock nuts to keep the frame solid. Also for class 3 I would replace the seat with a stronger one...the back of the stock seat will break under class 3 stress. With these mods....you will do well on most waters to the plus side of class 3 easily...just don't take it over a water fall. Always remember, cold air and water will reduce the air pressure in the pontoons that were inflated in a warmer environment. Like wise, pontoons inflated to pressure in cool temps may over pressurize in warm water and a hot sun. Keep an air pump strapped on it at all times for such adjustments. ..... just read the water and go with the flow....enjoy!

**Q: Any fish finder suggestions? Hummingbird 120 fishin' buddy w/ float tube strap?**
A: Open water can be rough with paddles only but I think most fish finders would work. There is plenty of room for mounting. I probably wouldn't put it on the pontoon if you can't pull it up when your moving. Might cause a little to much drag and be hard to go straight. I would mount the sensor on the cage behind you and your screen up front near the rod holder. I've also found you can stand on top of the seat if water is calm enough and you haven't had to many beers yet.

**Q: does it com with the air pump?**
A: I bought this boat and I like it so much, I bought a very good air pump too, ASIN is B07537LF7X, It is very suitable for this boat.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice boat, looks like a pro level boat at the lakeside.
*by on Reviewed in the United States June 28, 2017*

There's nothing cheap about this boat. The frame is large, at least 1 inch tubing. Everything seems to be powder coated. Frame pieces line up and pins drop in without rubber mallet smacking. I can't even say that about my Port-a-Bote. (Since sold) I needed to keep a mallet with it to get seats etc. to line up. None of that crap with this boat. The heavy nylon pontoon covering removes with large sleeping bag type zippers. Lots of storage pockets with large zippers. My first time out, I launched next to a guy with a RIB boat, and his obviously expensive boat had the same inflate/deflate valves. He borrowed my double action pump because his foot pump was too slow, and the same fitting worked in his boat's valves.I read other reviews talking about adding a swivel seat piece, and it's very easy. (I ordered the swivel piece along with the boat) The 1st time out though was irritating because I used whatever hardware I had on hand. The wingnuts will leave holes in your fingers, standard bolts spin and don't get tight enough. The photos show version 2.0 of the seat adjustment. I used carriage bolts in the swivel part because the square head section prevents spinning of the bolt, and the large handles of the thumb knobs makes tightening/loosening magnitudes easier. The knobs are Ace Hardware 1/4 x 20 thumb screws which are about $4.50 each. The swivel is attached to the seat with #14 x 1.5" screws. Note that this was all well worth it, as A) You really need a seat swivel to spin and reach things in the cargo basket, and B) adding cargo, trolling motor, ice chest, whatever, changes the balance of the boat, so you need frequent seat adjustments. (For each trip out on the water)It tracks nicely, much better than the Tote-n-Float rubber raft I had years ago. If you row backwards and but some pull into the oars, you can keep up with a kayak, so it does move along easy. I row forward 98% of the time. And those oars. The tubing is about 1/8" thick, these are NOT toy boat oars. There are double locking knobs. The only thing that I might change later is adding pin lock type oar locks so I don't have to get the paddles up vertical and then keep them that way while rowing. That will mean drilling the oar tubing though, and that's a maybe. Here's a caveat about small pontoon boats, and one I didn't think about before getting one. I consider it to be a "death grip" boat. As in keep a death grip on your binoculars, camera, tackle box, cellphone, knife, can of pop/beer, satellite communicator, (Inreach Explorer, you NEED one of those!) or whatever else you have out and are handling while out in it. You are on a seat in open water, feet on pegs like a motorcycle. You drop something in water more than a few inches deep and it's not shiny and easy to see in the mud, or if it doesn't float, it's gone. I repeat, it's GONE. There's nothing underneath you and/or your seat, there's no floor, the mesh thing directly under the seat won't catch it unless you're really lucky. One last thing, I've read bad reviews about this "problem" too: keep a close eye on the air pressure. My motorcoach, with 120 PSI commercial 11R22.5 truck tires changes all the time. (TPMS on the dash) They can be 15% higher on the sun side of the coach while traveling on the freeway. They lose it when the temp drops overnight to the point alarms go off on the TPMS. (The TPMS and I have a love/hate relationship) The pontoons are low pressure and very sensitive to temp changes. Leave them "soft" until you actually put it into the water and head out. Leave them soft if you're heading to the water with an assembled boat in the back of your truck. When out on the water, If the sun gets to them and/or you move into warm shallows, you may have to let them out a little. NEVER leave the shore without your air pump. (Kind of goes without saying though)

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Fishing Boat
*by on Reviewed in the United States August 30, 2021*

From opening the box to assembly completed: 1.25 hrs. Assembly was easy and instructions were well written. All materials have high quality feel. Pontoons have bladder already installed. I purchased the K-Pump separately and it works well. Would recommend purchasing a better anchor. I did. Had maiden voyage today. Realized my rowing needs practice. After being on the water for a day, there are adjustments required for exact seat, ore stop, and ore holder locations but, had a great time! Fought against winds and some small white caps at the lake today. The boat did great and felt stable the entire time! To transport, I disconnected the seat/rack section, strapped pontoons in truck bed and the other parts fit easily in truck cab. Had to walk about 100' to shore. Easy walking the parts and had it back together in minutes. Plenty of room for a small cooler and fishing gear with room to spare on the rack and the pockets. Get some bungees. Highly recommend this boat to a person who wants to mosey around, get into tough to access areas, or just have a leisurely time on the water. In short, this is a sweet boat for a fun day at the lake! Looking forward to taking her to other lakes and rivers!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great little Pon-"TOON" boat !
*by on Reviewed in the United States June 15, 2015*

ordered mine may 3rd, selected free shipping. since i live not far from the amazon warehouse - and classic accessories home base.It arrived two days later, wasnt expecting it for 5 to 10 days, since i wasnt in a big hurry it was a surprise that i got it so fast.plus it was on sale for $349.00, they've gone back up to 499.00 ... wow !this one doesnt have a wheel, the xt model does. i went to classic's website and ordered one from them for $45.then i went to the local sportsmans warehouse and got a swivel for the seat for 10 bucks !THIS LITTLE BOAT ROCKS !Ive had it out a few times on some of the small lakes in my area, and one that is full of stumps called Lake Kapowsin.i put a 30lb thrust electric trolling motor on it , on hi it almost seems like a person could water ski behind it, you cant but you get the idea !it has no keel so its not easy to row in a straight line and the motor requires a person to constantly adjust the steering.this little "toon" is highly manuverable !but hey ! these were originally ment for floating a river, i havent yet but give it time and i will.today i took it up to one of the high lakes you can drive to near stampede pass.(yeah , i live in the seattle tacoma area)made a few laps around the lake with no problems, (see the pic i uploaded).you dont sit in the water but your feet will get wet at the shore during launching and beaching.or unless you just feel like dangling your toes in the water ?this "toon" dissembles and will fit in the trunk of your car or - of course - it'll fit in the back of a pickup !storage is a snap - inflating is easy, read the instructions and just figure it out !any good air mattress inflator either 12 volt or an AC type will work, but get a hand pump kind cuz the others wont put enough pressure past the check valve to do any good. i partly inflate mine at the house then 'top' it off at the lake with a manual hand pump, their only about $15 bucks.ive got all three - a 12 volt , an AC type and a hand pump.
