You need some fire rocks or some landscaping rocks these are great.FYI the color is more grey than black when dry.But individually rocks are very light weight

Excellent Larger Size Rocks
Definitely more expensive than the smaller rocks, but I like its larger, round rocks.

Not quite what we expected.
We have a portable propane firepit. We had lava rock that had started to shrink from use, so ordered this.These rocks are about the size of a small potato. The work ok but one bag barely covered the fire ring.
