Tenth studio album by the Colombian singer-songwriter. Featuring the singles 'Can't Remember to Forget You' with Rihanna, 'Empire', 'Medicine' with Blake Shelton and 'Dare (La La La)', the album debuted at #14 in the UK Albums Chart. This deluxe edition includes three bonus tracks. Review: In love - I’m in love with this album—it’s my favorite from Shakira. The cover is stunning, and the pink translucent vinyls are just wow. Everything about it feels special, both visually and sonically. Review: Excellent album! - A surprisingly great album. I say that as I didn't have high hopes for it as I wasn't that big of a fan of Shakira's effort for, "She Wolf". This is a great album. It's fun, upbeat, and melodic. Almost every track is great. One of the best songs on the album is "Chasing Shadows", which I later realized was on my deluxe version of this album. I didn't know that it's not part of the regular album, which is hard to believe as it's one of the best tracks on the album. Then I later discovered the song was written by Sia who had apparently written three songs for Shakira, who only chose to record one, but for the deluxe version of this album. The other track, Sia chose to put it on her own album, "Move Your Body", which you should listen to if you haven't as it sounds very much like a Shakira track, not sure why she chose not to record it as it could've replaced one of the others on this album. Regardless, of all that is a great album with awesome tracks such as "Can't Remember to Forget You", "Empire", "You Don't Care About Me", "Cut Me Deep", "The One Thing", "23", and "Dare".

Almost perfect
I was in the midst of giving this a five star review, as I was listening to it; unfortunately Side D has some scratch or aberration causing the beginning of the first song on that side to skip. That prevents a 5 star rating, but other than that, it sounds amazing! Admittedly, I did clean it before listening to it, as I do all my records, but I have used that cleaning method on other records and they still sound poor, but this one was clearly made with care. I think only once did I detect pops or static in the silent passages throughout all 4 sides, and even that was minimal. I also didn't pay attention to the description, therefore not realizing the records were pink until pulling them out of the case, which was a fun surprise! The scratch is a shame, but not bad enough to return the album, and overall this is a wonderful purchase for any Shakira fan!

This is my lazy, short and sweet review in order to record my 5 star rating. The album is quite diverse in terms on song style. The are Latin, country, pop, "electronica" and other styles. Shakira sings beautifully as usual with her unique voice. I enjoy listening to her music and keep this CD in my Silverado to listen as I travel. I've probably played it through 15-20 times now and no where near being bored with any of the songs. I don't find myself skipping through songs on this CD as I do with other albums after I've listened to them a few times. It's not her best work to date in my opinion, but if you are a Shakira fan, you won't be disappointed.

I'm not generally a pop fan, but...
Her lyrics are so engaging and I actually felt a connection to them in several of her new songs. Great beat and a very powerful and unique voice. I especially liked Empire which is all I was going to buy but after listening to the samples of each song I decided to buy the whole album. There are several songs with a country flair and one of those done with Blake Sheldon which was super good. Overall, a great release showing Shakira's cross-genre versatility and a utterly beautiful voice. It certainly doesn't hurt that she is stunningly beautiful!!

Good but NOT great!
I love Shakira's originality in vocal tone. The album employs great melodies and nice production. Overall most of the songs fall short of Shakira's former glory. But the mix of genres is cool. She glides effortlessly between pop-rock, EDM, reggae and pop. It's a a totally fine album to have something to listen to mindlessly in the car or mix into a playlist at a party.

So our favourite hip wiggling Colombian is back, with her best work for some time. I haven't disliked anything she's released, but can understand why the last 2 offering didn't please many fans. Beside their occasional gems, not a lot of the tracks really added to her appeal. But now we have this,an album which is mostly English and has many gems that will no doubt become loved by many that play it. I like that she tries different ideas out and has the talent to do so,she doesn't shy away from keeping her style aswell as mix it up a little, throwing in some interesting surprises. A lot of it is clearly Shakira, whilst some of it is done in a style that might well have some asking "who is this,it's great?" Not one track on here bored me or left me disappointed. I can't deny SHE WOLF was an idea that just didn't quite pay off, then there was another release that was going to annoy many fans with the lack of English tracks. But this should appease anyone who just didn't quite get what she was doing with those 2 albums. From an energetic start, she takes us on a great ride.sometimes smooth and sometime fast and furious, but always enjoyable. Chances are, you'll be hopping right back in for another go. Shakira still has it...and more.
