A solid drill
I worked as a commercial electrician for 6 years and this drill got me through all tasks required throughout that time. A buddy of mine actually dropped it from 30ft in the air off a scissor lift around year 4 of use.. still ran great after. I started doing garage doors a little over 2 years ago (where drill use is much more frequent) and I had to buy another about 5 months in. Here I am, 2 years later buying another one. It's lightweight, durable and the only drill I will ever purchase. Pay a bit extra for this model. If you need a hammer drill drop the cash on a decent dewalt hammerdrill model (not the low end ones... there are differences)..... but as far as dewalt DRILLS go this is their best in my opinion.

Old world finish meets New world technology.
This drill was a replacement drill I purchased after my DCD771 was stolen. This drill does NOT come with a battery, which was fine by me as I had an extra battery already. This is a GREAT drill, going brushless was the best thing I've done, it's considerably more powerful for all applications. I particularly liked how the chuck was metal unlike the plastic ones I've had over recent years, the build quality is stellar. My only gripe with this drill was that it didn't come with a spot to clip a philips / flat head bit on for quick access. It's clearly a tool built for a pro who probably has a tool belt on hand with all the bits he/she needs. I'm just a DIY guy who uses his tools for car, home and community projects. This drill is still considerably lighter than my old 14.4 Dewalt, which now just sits in it's case.

Great improvements over previous models
Had the same drill prior but it was the first of the 20v line from like 5 years ago, it survived everyday hard use and abuse. But finally when it died i needed to replace it, i came on amazon and ordered what i thought would be just the same drill with new markings but happily to my surprise i recieved one heck of a machine. it has the heavy duty feel and build i expected to have and then some, upgrading from the plastic chuck to all steel and the much more powerful brushless motor ive come to love in my many other battery tools, a relocated lamp that has multiple brightness settings and even a 20 minute work light. it hasnt been put through the test of 5 years of work but first impression and use im sure it will be in my kit for at least that.

Excellent design and construction
An excellent drill and driver. It's lightweight, compact and powerful. I also bought a 4Mh battery, which I can use on other Dewalt tools, and a charger which does a fine job. The drill has a lot of torque settings, and the light is directed onto the subject perfectly. It also stays on a few seconds after pressing the trigger, which is handy.

Overall very good unit
Small and powerful, with good battery life. Good size for tight places. Knocked off a star as it seems to run a bit "rough" compared to my 15 year old non-brushless Dewalt

Works great!
This is a replacement for a previous Dewalt drill that reached the end of its service life. The old batteries fit this new drill well. Love the LED light feature so I can see the target much better. Drills fine. If I want to get serious, I will pull out my Dewalt corded hammer drill. But for convenience and 90 percent of most around the house drilling duties, this one is fine.

Great drill
My last cordless drill (1980's version) finally died and a tool chest is incomplete without a cordless drill. I knew I wanted brushless. I also didn't want to break open a piggy bank to buy one. This drill was both. I've already had multiple opportunities to give it a try and am amply impressed by its power. One caveat is the weight. It's a hefty piece of machinery. The handy belt attachment reduced the cumbersome factor while making it always nearby. I would definitely recommend this to others.

LOVE this drill
I had the Exact same drill for years and it worked PERFECTLY building tons of decks, etc. Then I dropped it about 20 feet off of the ground and it died:( So I ordered this same model. I Love the drill. It has two speeds both of which are operated by a variable trigger. This little guy has screwed WELL OVER a hundred pounds of exterior screws and showed NO degree of slowing down (Until I dropped it). There is also an led onboard that lights up where you are working [This One detail you will immediately fall in love with]. It has a brightness level and auto times out after releasing the trigger. It also has a hook which will hook onto a belt, etc....I've ALWAYS just used my jean pocket to slip the hook into. Feel funny saying again that I LOVE this drill but I just do. It's been a major workhorse.
