It burns
It burns! Bought this to add to my home made protein shake and home made chocolate. Smells absolutely wonderful but the taste.. ah it burns my mouth and tongue and is terrible. I should have tasted it before i made my products. They're not usable. Honestly not only did i waste money on this product, i also wasted the money on the products i was making because i can't use them. I am sure this cant be food grade.

It’s not vanillin
Not Vanillin but Ethyl Vanillin

This is not vanillin - it is ethyl vanillin which is a vanillin substitute
If it is the physical or chemical properties of vanillin that you are after, don't bother with this product because it is not vanillin, it is ethyl vanillin. Vanillin and ethyl vanillin are based on para hydroxy benzaldehyde but proper vanillin has a methoxyl group in the meta position on the benzene ring. This product has an ethoxyl group there instead so it is not vanillin.
