This is my favourite instant coffee. The aroma when first opening the jar lets you know you’re in for a treat. For an instant coffee, you get a wonderful rich, dark, yet smooth coffee with good strength. Don’t get me wrong it’s not as good as filtered coffee, however, for convenience and price I think it’s the closest you can get. Would definitely recommend.

Oh my! How can I possibly explain how much I LOVE this coffee?? It is the one thing in my continually evolving Subscribe and Save shopping list that I order EVERY SINGLE MONTH WITHOUT FAIL - quite often in multiples. I feel blessed that somewhere along the long and winding road that is my life to date, somebody introduced me to Alta Rica. Thank you, whoever you were. In the days before I started working from home, my colleagues would stop and wonder who was making (some said burning) toast in the kitchen every time I made a cup of this - it's THAT toasty-roasty and yummy. With it's 100% Arabica content it pisses all over those insipid, lacklustre, coffees that pass as "mainstream" - you know who you are, oh coffee ending in "...House." This little number is the closest I have managed to find to a properly robust, "grab you by the wotsits" coffee that can be made from an instant. It has a rich, dark, grown-up flavour that makes me feel sad for those people who are too timid to stray out of their groove and into the lane where, if coffee had a personality, it would be a combination of Jeremy Paxman and Attila the Hun. If this ever stops being made I will have to go into mourning for the rest of my life. Conversely, if they could ever be persuaded to make a decaf version of this......oh happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy day!!!
