ZAGG Rugged Messenger – Backlit Case and Bluetooth Keyboard – Made for Apple iPad 10.2"" – Durable Case with Built-in Stand – Multiple-Device - Charcoal (103104651)

I’d strongly advise you not to buy this keyboard case. A friend has a Zagg that’s great, with a stand stand that works very well and is almost continuously adjustable, and it’s robust and keeps the iPad in place. Works great.This one barely stands up, and when it does, it doesn’t last long before it collapses.The keyboard is a bit small, but that’s just due to the fact that it’s a 10.2” iPad gen 8 and I’m used to a full size laptop and used to have an iPad Pro 12.9” with keyboard.It’s a shame, b/c the keys feel great, and I love the backlighting. I can’t wait to return this one and get the same Zagg my friend has.

I bought this a while ago and it broke not too soon after I just forgot to write a review. After a week of use one of the keys broke off.(as you can see in the second photo) then after a few months of use it would not charge and none of the keyboard shortcuts would work(I couldn’t turn the brightness down or change the colors of the lights). I was very upset by this so I contacted Zagg, to this day I still have not gotten a response! I wasn’t too bothered because I still had a case that folded and had a spot for my Apple Pencil. I still continued to use it every day for school but one day in art A kid knocked it off of my desk and there was a little crack in my iPad that went across the entire screen. At the time I was mostly angry at the kid who knocked it off my desk but now that I think about it, the case should have prevented that crack. At this point I’m pretty angry but I continue to use it and don’t write a review. Around a week or two before the last day of school it fell out of my backpack as I was leaving class. Before I say this next part you should know that The case was completely closed I had 360° of protection on my iPad. When I opened the case my iPad was completely shattered with huge chunks of glass coming out of the screen(as you can see in the first photo). This is completely unacceptable for any case especially a case that completely wraps around my iPad. I was infuriated but also scared that my dad was going to get mad at me so I just tried to focus on my assignments. That was the end of the 2020-2021 school year, a while ago. I had almost forgot about wanting to write a review until today(I’m in kind of a bad mood right now).This is the longest review I’ve ever written so I’m gonna come to a conclusion now. This product was good for a week and then it all went downhill so I would recommend doing more research and maybe just get a case and a Bluetooth keyboard separately. Possibly an OtterBox defender.(that is what I’m using for my phone right now) Don’t buy this case unless you expect to gently tap each key slowly when typing. - Will Jennings, 13

This is my second zagg keyboard, my other one wouldn’t hold a charge any longer after having it for over 5 years. Guess I dropped it too many times. Love how easy it was to connect to bluetooth and the feel of the keyboard. Just wish it weren’t so heavy, esp when traveling... keeps my ipad from breaking when dropped so guess can live with the heaviness of the cover....

The product seems like a good one but...Don't pay for expedited shipping. The small print says they'll get it ready at their leisure, then ship it quick. So it could take them a week to get it out the door to begin shipping it.The next order I placed, I received 5 BROKEN KB/Cases - each had a post-it stuck to it describing how it was broken. They had shipped me a box of 5 KB/Cases that were returned by other customers for warranty replacement.Avoid using Zagg unless you have a lot of free time to deal with their customer service.

Bought this to use with my 8th gen ipad, 10.2" In the past I had the Zaggfolio for my ipad air. The Zaggfolio was hands-down better. It was made of hard plastic (this one has a matte finish, almost like they were going for a suede look) and was hinged. The hinges broke, I think for everybody, lol. And Zagg's replacement policy is excellent, so I got 2 or 3 replaced, completely free of charge. Might have to pay shipping, once. But back to the review: this one is too loosey goosey when it comes to keeping your 'pad in place while you're using it. To be fair, it doesn't just fall, mid- keystroke. But it's just a little too tenuous for my taste. IF I would have found a decent old zaggfolio for this ipad, I woulda snapped it right up. The ONLY reasons I kept this are: I got it from amazon warehouse for about $60., I think, AND I could not find a hard plastic, hinged one (preferably a zaggfolio). Unfortunately it seems Zagg, like many others, has gone the super cheap route. Definitely not in keeping with an outrageous retail price.

My 10B likes this case for his personal /school ipad. It is easy to select the blue tooth and has a very long battery life between charges. The case that the iPad goes in can be held separately from the keyboard case which my 10B likes but I think the iPad is less protected then. That might be a consideration if your child is carrying it to school etc. We bought screen protector sheets separately as a result.

I returned this because I could not get it connect to my Ipad 10.2 8th gen. I charged it and tried everything with no avail. Still waiting for my money to get refunded to me.

I love that I can detach the iPad in a sturdy case from the keyboard. Sometimes I want to watch a movie or show and I can detach it. But if I need to type it attaches quickly with magnets. Very convenient.
