Circle of Grace: A Book of Blessings for the Seasons Paperback – November 14, 2015

Jan Richardson's books are beautiful, deep and holy. This one is no exception. The blessings move through the Church calendar, but not with the same only clichéd stories. They are humbling, nuanced and prompt reflection. They can be used to bless others or as your own meditation, and they are a true light in the darkness. I am so grateful to Jan for putting this book together, and believe I'll be using it and receiving from it for years to come.

Jan Richardson gets to the heart of things. This book is filled with poems of blessing for each day. I look at the titles and read the one that draws me. The psalm always touches me, inspires me and guides me toward love and hope. I have read all her books and this is a book I pray with each day. I read from it every morning when I drink my coffee. It provides much to ponder the rest of the day. Thank you Jan for reaching the heart. And using words to bless.

Jan Richardson expresses the deep spiritual complexities that emerge as we traverse the liturgical year. They both express the poignancy of each season and the profound love that underlies the human condition. Richardson is tender and tough as she speaks to the tragic conditions of life and the affirmation of the growth that comes in grappling with the paradox that often is the vehicle of truth. I have given this book to several friends who simply say, “Wow!”

I have used it in small groups & for my personal devotions. The blessings are so real to how I experience life around me. I am really blessed & grateful to Jan Richardson for sharing her blessings with us!!!

This beautiful book of blessings provides words of consolation in times sorrow, delight in times of joy, wonder at the mystery of God's grace and always leaves the reader aware of the enduring, accompanying love of God. I cannot recommend this highly enough.
