Excellent tablet at a very affordable price point
I replaced a broken Acer Iconia One 7 with this Galaxy A7 Tab and they are in a different league in both build quality and performance. The high definition screen on this Samsung is stunning and the speakers pack a very decent punch. The Atmos surround effect is nice through the quad speakers and the sample music track that comes on the tablet shows the effect off really well. The speakers fire out from the edge so you can use it on any surface without muffling the sound. There's two different app stores on the tablet because it's got both Google Play and Samsung's own app store. In the Samsung one there's a plethora of exclusive offers and free apps for the tablet.Battery life seems great so far too, it is quite large though so takes some time to charge with the supplied adaptor. I may try my Anker Qualcomm certified quick charge adaptor with it next time. There was quite a lot of updates for the tablet to install after setting it up, including an Android 10 security patch for Android released in December 2020. The Samsung Home screen is okay but I wish they'd offer a scrambled PIN login screen like LineageOS features. Also, in landscape mode the login number pad is a little uncomfortably small on the screen. I have tried sending this information to Samsung but won't hold my breath over them acting on it.Material wise, it's an all metal chassis and feels weighty but is comfortable to hold because it is so thin. I have a JML Pill-O-Pad which I have been using it on though and it fits on that perfectly. The only minor annoyance is the MicroSD card slot is next to redundant for anything other than portable media storage (music, video, photo etc. from PC and tablet content backup using Samsung Switch). You cannot format it as internal storage, Samsung have set the tablet up to prevent this. With 32GB (around 10GB of which is used by the operating system) it means you will eventually have to be a little selective over what apps, downloaded movies, books etc. you keep on the tablet.

Ideal for me, nice size screen
This is the first tablet I have even owed that's not a Kindle Fire.I wanted the new Fire 10 for it's larger screen, but due to finances I had to settle with something else.I goggled the top 10 tablets of 2023 and this A7 was number 3 in that list due to it's price and specs. The A8 was number 2.I'm not really one for games, so didn't need the bells and whistles for that aspect, I mainly listen to music, watch boxsets or the odd film, or listen to podcasts while I'm cross stitching, lol. It's also useful for marking of charts through pattern keeper.I have it attached to my Lowery Stand via the chart holder attachment and my own custom made chart board. For me this is ideal, the larger screen is a godsend, the old Fire being the 7 inch one. The size fits perfectly on my setup, it has a headphone port which for me is essential as well, as my headphones aren't bluetooth and I'm also picky about my headphones, it's hard to find a pair that doesn't hurt my ears - the pair I use are wired so I needed the port.At the time of purchase it was on sale, the price should have been £220, if that was the case I wouldn't have been able to afford it, so the timing for the sale was just right, lol. It's updated itself to Android 12 along with a few pre-installed apps which I've just left on anyway, like Netflix which I have an account and Spotify which I use for my podcasts.I installed Disney+ and Amazon Prime through the Play store with no problems (all this is new to me, lol) and the one game I do play odd occasions, Hidden City. The tablet is very fast compared to the Fire, I'm usually waiting for it to load stuff, or the sound like skips sometimes, but with this A7 I have had no such problems. For my own personal requirements, I couldn't be happier with this tablet. I haven't used it to it's full potential, I haven't had it long and still finding my way around, like I said I've never had a tablet like this before, but I've installed a micro card from the old Fire to the A7, this just wanted to be formatted and away it went and it's also capable of linking to your phone so you can call and send texts on it - this is probably old news to some, but I didn't know you could do that, lol. Not like I would use that function, but impressed it's there, lol.So 5 stars here from me and I would highly recommend to others.
