I’ve been really impressed with this beard oil so far. The consistency is excellent — it has a rich, thick feel that applies smoothly and absorbs well without leaving a greasy residue. After using it regularly, my beard feels noticeably softer, more moisturized, and much easier to manage throughout the day. The Citrus and Spice scent is one of my favorites. It’s fresh, warm, and very balanced, giving my beard a clean yet subtly bold aroma. I do wish the scent lasted a bit longer, but the quality and feel of the oil itself absolutely make up for that. Overall, Mountaineer Brand continues to stand out as a professional, reliable maker of high-quality grooming products. If you’re looking for a beard oil that performs well and feels great, this one is definitely worth trying.

Orange spice scent is great. Oil works well on beard, staché, and helping slick back the hair with what’s left on the hands in the morning. Only reason for four stars, not five, it’s a little “thinner” than some others I’ve used. But, I’m nitpicking a little. I’ll call it 4.5 stars tho. (5 being perfect). Will definitely buy again.

I have been buying the Mountaineer brand beard oil (in WV Timber) since it first came about. I would say that I have maybe gone through 20 bottles or so in that timeframe, feeling that it is a great product at fair price. I also like their beard shampoo as well and have at least gone through 10 of these as well. It is has got to the point that by each for me as gifts during the holiday season. With all that being said, I decided to give the WV Coal version a try to change things up (both in the beard oil and the beard shampoo). First came the shampoo, the scent in my opinion is a mix of a number of scents but peppermint and patchouli stand out prominently. To me, this is a very pleasant scent and while the strength of the shampoo aroma dissipates after the shower there is still a light scent that remains. Upon receiving the beard oil, this too had the same scent as the shampoo but where it differs is that the scent remains nicely strong. With the Timber, the scent was very light and, in my opinion, somewhat neutral shortly after applying it. With the Coal, I am getting a nice aroma routinely after wearing all day or after sleeping on it overnight. The Coal is a keeper for me although I did experience an issue that made this test somewhat satisfying. I have yet to experience and issue with leaking during shipment, and especially since they moved to the sealed poly bag for the containers several years back. Everything has arrived without issue. In the case of the Coal beard oil, everything seemed good, no leakage, clean sealed poly bag, but the bottle felt drastically less in weight than I am used to. It just so happens that I had a full Timber that I had ordered accidentally the day before, so it was easy to make the comparison between the two. Aside from weighing less, the Coal bottle was not filled like the Timber bottle and appeared to be about a ~1/4” or so less in the container. Maybe I just got one that there was an accident with, or someone took some for themselves off the line. This is a first offense and given their years of service to me is worthy of a pass. As I buy more over time, I will comeback and readjust should there be a continued issue. Three things I would like to see as a long time consumer of the Mountaineer brand products: 1) The ability to buy larger bottles or multipacks at a slight discount (similar to the two packs offered for the Timber version of the oil). 2) And for the beard shampoo; while I really like the stopper installed in the bottle (because it works great, when it works) it rarely stays in the bottle and most times comes off and remains logged in the screw off cap. It is likely that a proper flip cap could solve this issue. Still a great product, just save me some time the frustration of having to glue the stopper into each new bottle I get. 3) Keep up the good work; you provide a great product at a great price point. The Timber scent is the first beard oil I have had that I like. All the others, the scent is too fake or strong. I had given up on anything scented. I have been so pleased, that I just ordered the Coal flavor with high hopes.

I first bought the WV Timber in 2015 and I loved it and I’ve bought it almost yearly since. It had a great cedar smell to it and it’s also a great beard oil. In 2018 I wrote the company and asked what had changed since there the smell of cedar in their oil was noticeably reduce. They were very nice, told me the recipe hadn’t changed, that I likely got a bad batch and sent me a free bottle. Which was great, except the new bottle had the same scent as the one I complained about, with very little cedar scent to it. I was bummed but it still smelled ok and I continued to buy the product. Well, I just opened a new bottle and I can’t detect any scent to it. Like ANY scent. So I brought it to my wife who has a sense of smell like a pregnant grizzly bear. And she couldn’t detect any scent to it. Well, other than the general scent of “oil”. Unfortunately, I bought 2 bottles this last time. My bad...

Great product. I order the unscented solely to use patchouli oil to make my favorite scent. This product moisturizes the skin and encourages beard growth.

Okay I guess. Don't like the scent(peppermint), no dropper so the oil can get everywhere. Keeps beard hydrated for most of the day.

Honestly comparing it with other products I have used I will give it a 2 stars rating, the fragrance is not to my standard.

I will update my review if there is any negative changes from Day 1, but honestly I am shocked at how soft my beard became with just a single use. When I cracked the bottle open, I found that all I smelled was eucalyptus. Once applied it becomes a more balanced scent. I applied a good amount, and the scent is very faint and not overpowering at all. My wife is sensitive to aftershave normally, and now pregnant, meaning she has a stronger sense of smell, and she did not find it very strong, and liked the scent. So long as I am buying beard oil, this is the one! You cannot beat the price and cost! Great service as well.
