How are these different from digestive enzymes? I already take digestive enzymes that don’t seem to be helping me any longer. Are these stronger?

I order these every month for my Mom. She was diagnosed with pancreatic insufficiency and needs these enzymes to digest food properly. These are great if you need higher doses, particularly for the Lipase (which helps digest fats.) My Mom also uses the Pure Lipase supplements with these for extra added help digesting fats (that is her main problem and what causes her the most digestive problems.) My mom's doctor recommended these because her prescription for Creon enzymes (basically the same thing) had a $400 per month copay (ridiculous!) and these actually work much better for her (especially after she adds in the Lipase supplement.) These are superior to Creon at a MUCH better price.

Is it enteric coated?

Based on the ingredients listed, i dont think they're enteric coated. However i can attest to this supplement's effectiveness. My Mom-in-law and had serious digestion problems throughout years of chronic illness, and a few years ago she got severe pancreatitis and had the majority of her pancreas removed. Everything got worse after that. She couldn't eat, she was losing weight like crazy, very sickly. She was put on Creon, which helped incredibly. Unfortunately she couldn't keep affording the absolutely ridiculous $1500/mo it costed, so she had to stop.. And everything went downhill after that again. No other enzyme blends helped her get this problem under control. I started doing research and found out about Pure Encapsulations Pancreatic enzyme formula and noticed the blend was VERY similar to Creon. (except its $80 for a huge bottle! Grrrr pharmaceutical industry!) and we got her a bottle and within a few days she started feeling so much better! Was able to start enjoying food again. Many of her GI issues subsided. She said it made her feel like she was on the Creon again. And she's been much better ever since. I can't thank this company enough for this incredible product! And that's my two cents!

Could you tell me what the mg and USP units for this particular product for the 5 contents?

capsule 500mg: Lipase-17,500 usp units, protease-110,000 usp units, amylase-120,000 usp units. The formulation is very close to Zenpep prescription. I use this when I hit the doughnut hole in my medicare due to the extremely high cost of Zenpep. I have noticed no difference in the effectiveness of the product. Recommended by a naturopath friend.
