Snug fit to side tear checks. The wallet is genuine leather and has a good leather smell. No chemical odor as some leathers seem to have.

...the cover is holding up quite well. I carry it in my back pocket instead of a wallet and have used it constantly since purchase. The plastic piece under the checks still works as new (big fail on the cheapies)and the cover shows only minor wear in the coloration, mostly on the inside in the crease between the two sides. Stitching is still tight and complete. Cover has nice features including places for driver's license (under plastic) and 3 credit card slots - more than I need. I've ordered 2 of them and will order more if and when these wear out. I'd expect life expectancy for this cover to be a couple of years at least, with normal wear.UPDATE April 2013. Still using the item, it's still working well!

Great quality leather checkbook cover. Yes some of us (my husband) still actually write checks and those freebie checkbook covers the bank provides barely last through 2 boxes of checks. Kept hearing my husband complain about this, and when he came home with one given to him by a friend with...*ahem* Might Mouse on the cover, I figured I would help him keep his dignity and get him a grown up cover. He loves this one and it doesn't look like it's going to fall apart anytime soon

The opening for the register is too small - needed to cut the register insert to fit.The plastic is much too small, does not sufficiently cover the carbon copy of duplicate checks.Perhaps I should just have returned this item.The 'checkbook divider wallet insert' recently ordered hopefully will remedy the situation.

I t was not as thick as I thought it would be and I keep my register and debit receipts in my ckbk. But it is still a good reasonably priced replacement for my old one which was cracked and falling apart. Just hope this one holds up for 15 years like the old one!

Very nice supple leather. Great quality and stitching detail. I have standard top tear checks and they fit a little snug. After cutting the back cover paper card 1/4 inch on each side, it fits perfectly. I am very satisfied with my purchase, and its a great value for the money. I anticipate this checkbook cover lasting quite a while.

This looks great and better than the plastic deal that comes from the bank.The separater tha goes between the carbon and the next check, could be another 1/4" longer to the left, overall, I like it.

The quality of this product is great, but ever since i got it, the smell has been horrible. no matter how much perfume i put on it, it still stinks. I've never had this issue with anything leather before. Very confused.
