I love this tablet
I love this tablet.First of all, I should say I got it refurbished, so if you have any qualms about that, don't. Mine is in perfect condition and works beautifully.I use it primarily for reading books (for fun) and papers (for work), and for the little android apps you find here and there (DuoLingo, etc.). All of these things work great. The battery life is excellent - I use it a lot, and only have to charge it every few days. I have never noticed any compatibility problems or slowdown due to running too many things at once; on the contrary it seems to handle this pretty well. There's no Amazon Instant Video app on any tablet except the Fire, which is something to keep in mind if you use that, but I suspect they'll eventually unlock it when they decide they like money again. Netflix, of course, runs beautifully. The form factor is lovely- it's about the size of a paperback book, which makes it nice for reading, but it's not too wide for me to type on. It's very light. My Poetic slimline case is good, cheap (about $10 when I bought it), and has a good stand, so you can set it down to watch movies (although the screen is too small to share this experience, really). The only thing I don't like is typing, but I suspect this is a problem on every tablet. I just prefer a real keyboard. The buttons are quite small so I make mistakes. While autocorrect works pretty well, when it gets it wrong, it's hard to go back and fix it (since tapping a precise location on your typed text is also tricky). But again I suspect that's just the nature of a tablet, not a problem with this one specifically.

Although this is a refurbished tablet, it is very nice!
This would have been a 5 star rating for the product itself if it didn't reboot every once in awhile mysteriously. However I'm assuming it's just a hardware issue and I know that problems like this happen with the Nexus 7 since others reported similar situations with theirs. However,it works really well despite only being 1.5 gigahertz processor the quad core helps it run fast. Just a word of warning somebody apps that worked in jelly bean will not work in KitKat unless there is an update. Has it been a change in the OS that causes one of my apps not to work, which is Final Fantasy: all the bravest. Square Enix will not respond to it despite the numerous reports to them that it's not working, apparently I currently am running 4.4.4 KitKat and its a little buggy but I'm sure they'll fix it quickly, since this is an oem version of the Google tablet itself. This tablet was worth $149.99 I paid for it, and I suggest if you can get your hands on the refurb to do so. However, a brand new one is only 50 bucks more but almost not worth it do the fact yet there are some problems with a tablet not enough to deter anyone from buying it. As it is worth the cost. Just be careful with it if you can't buy an extended warranty with a refurb.

Not what I had hoped for
Unfortunately my experience was less than satisfactory, and I have already returned the tablet to get a refund. I have also purchased a brand new version of the same tablet. My product arrived in excellent condition, at least as far as the cosmetic features are concerned. There were two tiny nicks in the casing which I assume came from the refurbishing process, but the screen and the rest of the casing were in perfect condition. For the first 24 hours I was quite pleased with my purchase. Unfortunately soon after I started using the tablet regularly it began to freeze and force itself to restart. This usually happened when I was navigating to or around the home screens. It would also happen when I changed the orientation of the screen immediately after unlocking it.At first this was a minor inconvenience, but as the days went on it began to happen more often. Sometimes it would force itself to restart, then get to the Google logo, then shut down and restart again. This process would then repeat a few times before it would finally get to the home screen. A few days before requesting my refund I did a complete system wipe and reset. After restarting the tablet I installed just a few applications, but it didn't take long to start freezing up and restarting again. On the final day I tried to use it the tablet it forced itself to restart so many times that the unit became extremely hot. I put it on the charger long enough to do one more system wipe and reset, then I powered it down and packed it up to be sent to Amazon.I'm giving the two stars because my package arrived promptly, with everything included in excellent condition. Otherwise this was an unfortunate waste of my time and money. I appreciate that I am to get a refund for my return, but I can't recommend the product to anyone else at this time.

Had a charging issue, but a replacement has been fine so far.
I purchased 2 of these, and one of them had a charging issue. The one with the charging issue would show that it was charging, but after leaving it on charge overnight it would stop charging at some point and the battery was around 5% charged when checking it in the morning. After this occurred two nights in a row I returned it and received a replacement on the following day. The replacement tablet and the second tablet that I originally purchased are now working great. We will see how they hold up in the long run.I bought these to replace an earlier version of this item which I'm having a charging issue with. I've had the first model for a couple of years and it has a charging issue similar to the defective one that I recently purchased to replace it with. I believe it is an issue with the charging port, and I think it is the same issue as the one I just returned. I'm planning on keeping the first one to see if I can figure out the charging issue for future reference.
