Tailwind makes long distance running great! Saved me from years of GI woes!
Great combination of hydration and fuel for endurance events and long training runs. Simple sugars make it super easy to digest -- so no bad GI vibes, and the flavor is very light, so it doesn't cause sticky mouth syndrome and/or cause you to stop hydrating from being overwhelmed by the sweetness. I can generally run marathon distances on nothing but Tailwind, but like to combine it with a banana or two, or some fig newtons, or all of the above... anything that's real food and not goo, gel, etc.

Tastes Like Endurance, Pain, and Victory
No one is paying me or giving me anything for this review. I actually buy this stuff with my own money, which says a lot. Tailwind Nutrition Endurance Fuel is my go-to drink mix for long rides. It’s the magical blend that keeps me pedaling when my legs are filing HR complaints and my brain is wondering why I voluntarily suffer for hours. The Mandarin flavor? Smooth, refreshing, and somehow makes me feel like I’m riding through an orange grove instead of dying halfway up a virtual climb on ROUVY or while I’m trying to keep up with fast A group riders on local groups. I rotate flavors every few months just to keep things exciting — like speed dating, but with carbs and electrolytes. 10/10 would recommend for anyone who’s ever bonked so hard they questioned their life choices. Tailwind brings you back from the brink and makes you believe again… until the next climb.

Excellent product and tastes great.
I use this on almost all my long runs and bike rides and I love it. For short one hour trainer rides it’s perfect just having two or 3 scoops in my bottle and it gets me through and I feel better afterwards. Same with my runs, I put 6 scoops in my water bladder on my long runs with 1.5 liters of water. I use that and a 50 g carb gel an hour to meet my carb needs. Sometimes I drink a bottle before an early weightlifting session and it gives me just enough energy to get through my morning workout when I can’t eat breakfast. I love this stuff. The only thing that could make it better for me is if the sodium levels are much higher. At least 500mg per serving. I usually just add a packet of liquid IV to make it just the perfect solution for me.

Effective - works phenomenally for long workouts
As of the start of 2024 I began running a 5k 3 x times a week with a 3 x 1 mile + hill sprints + pullups + plyometrics on Saturday. Tailwind is a fantastic addition to my workouts - I was dead towards the end of most of my workouts on days I'd run. I had low expectations for Tailwind as I have used sports drinks like Gatorade and such before and never really felt good after drinking them / I don't think it was the biggest performance boost. Tailwind works, I'm not saying it will cut a minute off your mile, but you'll go longer without feeling as tired. It's alright for lifting - especially in Florida where my garage gets HOT and I sweat a lot, but Tailwind is best for running. I definitely notice a performance boost when it comes to distance and staying fresh the whole run. Just a note on taste - I prefer a product like this with a more neutral taste that is not too in your face. Too many drinks are loaded with food coloring and additives. This stuff is exactly what it is marketed as.

My go to product for biking...
I ride mountain bikes 4 days a week and the southern heat here can be brutal. I used Cytomax for years, but when they discontinued it I had to find a replacement product. I went through several alternate products and I knew that I had a winner with Tailwind. I only like the orange flavor and honestly it could taste a little better. I like the science behind this product and more so, I like the results. I drink it before and after riding with water during. A little pricey but a genuinely good product.

Since Cytomax Isn't On the Market Anymore...
For months now I've researched and sampled drink mixes to replace Cytomax for cycling 40 to 60 miles over hilly terrain 3 times a week. Priority is the right mix of carbs and electrolytes without too much sugar/calories. Then taste. And consistency. One doesn't want to carry around bulky bags of powder for refills. Tailwind comes closest. STILL I have to put way too much powder in a 24 oz bottle for taste. One scoop, no taste. 3 scoops too many calories. Also, the orange taste is OK, but the Berry has a weird soapy after taste. And it's not burp free. But so far I feel like it does sustain me for the long haul (though I haven't tested it in heat yet due to current weather conditions in So. Cal.) Lastly, I do like that the mix is colorless. And if you want to try all the flavors, you can order a sampler pack. (Which includes recovery drinks that I wanted to love but were a pain to mix and tasted nasty.)

Light flavor
I usually do no more than 6 hour races. At this point I have used it for a 2 hour MTB ride. It does the job. Its rather bland. Doesn't encourage you to drink like Accelerade but if you are disciplined you will see it works well. I have not tried to add anything to enhance flavor. No stomach issues. Update. I did a 3 1/2 hour MTB ride today using only this for calories. I consumed 3 scoops (300 cal) per hour with a full bottle of water. It worked well. Around hour 3 I needed to slow. Perhaps a Gu would have helped along the way. I did have some gas after the ride. Regardless its a good product at a much better value than the Hammer products I was using.

Tailwind is the perfect drink for while you're on a long distance run. When I get past 15 miles, I crash unless I have supplemental nutrition. Tailwind is the perfect combination of ingredients to keep you going for long distance runs. It is much better than gatorate and far better than trying to eat something or ingesting goos.

So far the only product my stomach can tolerate on ultras

Use it cycling. Easy on the stomach and seems to help prevent cramping on long rides.
