There were 5 pouches total, 2 each larger size, 2 each smaller size and 1 each cell phone pouch.

Could I put a speaker in it?

Yes, as far as it will remain waterproof if you use it as instructed. I cannot speak for how well the speaker will transmit through the plastic.
