Works perfectly next to bed on the wall to get in and out of ,especially after hip replacement surgery. It only comes with concrete anchors, not sure if these were only made for commercial buildings or what.. but my husband just got long screws from the hardware store and anchored into a 2x4 or stud to make it sturdy and it works just fine. Can raise up when not in use and at bedtime put down...better then one of those bedrails that go under the mattress.Would probably work great in the bathroom next to toliet ,also attached to a 2x4.

This guard rail is wonderful! It's strong, and I have to two heights to push off with. When not needed, it can be pushed back to the wall, out of everyone's way.

The bar is well made, sturdy. The screws and molleys provided did not work well. Two of the Molleys broke in half mid way in and we had to find other means to attach the handle. Strong and attractive addition to the bathroom. I may not have read the screws were in the metric system and not the traditional cross or Phillips but a square head.

My mother loves this fold down support bar. It works perfectly and easily supports her weight. So glad I ordered it. I had my handyman install it.

The folding bar itself seems to be of good manufacture, Due to the extended length, and multiplied force, the mounting hardware is not sufficient for support. The four bolts to mount this into the wall are designed to be placed into concrete or brick. They each consist of a screw, sleeve and expander bit that is pulled up the sleeve to wedge between the sleeve and the wall. This cannot be trusted for mounting into wood or plaster/wood. The top mounting holes are very short on the wall-plate, like a crowbar or hammer causes extreme force on the retaining bolts. If an adult using this as a 'Safety Bar' to catch themselves and applies body full weight, I believe this would rip out from the wall. This is likely true with any ONE SIDED ONLY support bar. If you purchase this and do not have STRONG ANCHORS to attach it, be warned! I will be keeping this as I have managed a solution. I used a 1/4 threaded rod and went all the way thorough the 6 inch wall, placing nuts and heavy washers on each side. I then capped the ends with cover nuts with rounded shields.

My father has Alzheimer’s. These bars saved mine and my mom so much difficulty as he was more and more unable to stand. If you have anyone with a handicap, I highly recommend these.
