Dreamland: Part 1: The Fabric of Dreams (The Dreamland Trilogy)

An instant classic!
“Poor little Eric…” This is what we know from the beginning of Dreamland. Eric is a young boy with a really big problem. It isn’t long, though, before Barry S. Brunswick opens up a whole new world to us. One where frogs talk, time runs on a different clock, flying can be mastered if you believe enough, light and dark are at war, and Eric is so much more than a little boy with a problem. Throughout the book, Eric makes wonderful discoveries about himself that he never imagined possible, while also connecting with an entire band of interesting and supportive new friends.Brunswick has crafted a very Narnia-esque type of story that stands on its own merit without infringing on all the childhood fantasy that came before him. Having read those stories, I can say without a doubt that Dreamland is unique in its own right. This is a book that will capture the hearts and minds of readers of any age. Following Eric on his journey…his quest, if you will…lights up the imagination while keeping you on the edge of your seat firmly believing that good will prevail.Dreamland has all the makings of becoming a timeless classic, but I think it’s necessary, now more than ever, for anyone who could use a boost to read this book. It’s the quintessential story for those who feel alone, like no one can relate. It also provides a feel-good reminder that we can not only overcome, but also triumph against anything.Go on an adventure into Brunswick’s Dreamland and you will not be disappointed.

Magical, spiritual, funny, genius
Barry S. Brunswick has an imagination unrivaled by any other MG writer I have ever read. Dreamland's world is rich, deep, and incredibly magical! This story is written in a language, with imagery, simple enough for children to understand, but with a spirituality deep enough for adults to connect with. The characters will pull at your heartstrings and have you celebrating their triumphs with happy tears, and laughing along with them. I cannot wait to see where my favorite characters go next!

This book holds so many magical moments, there were times I could hardly breath as I read it. This author takes hold of you, engaged and captivates you and only releases as you read the last line. This authors abilities to create mental movies is phenomenal and I can’t wait to read book two.

A wondrous tale full of magic and lessons
This page turner is full of imagination, bravery, overcoming obstacles, nightmares and an action packed journey. Leaves the reader begging for more. I hope the rest of the trilogy is written because I'm dying to know how it ends. Great for all ages.

Flight into Fantasy
I have volunteered to read and review this book. This book is an interesting beginning to a multi-book saga set in a fantasy world called "Dreamland". The story allows the reader to cast back at their childhood experiences with dreaming -- both good and bad dreams/nightmares. Focusing on Eric, a small child, and adding the underlying conflict and misunderstanding of him by/with his parents. It is a deeply involved "read" that will call the reader to anticipate the further parts of the saga to be revealed.
