Way better than I thought
I've been considering Lion's Mane for months now for my brain fog but was swayed by the cost. I eventually broke down and bought it in bulk to help. I've been taking it for four days. I feel a little more focused. I was diagnosed with Lymes disease after making this purchase which accounts for my brain fog, a disease I've not started treatment for yet. While I do not expect a miracle, as I'm presently an active carrier for the bacteria, I was a little delighted that it did seem to impact my brain fog a bit. I suspect for a healthy person, the results might be better. I am looking forward to seeing the difference after my disease is treated and will continue on this during treatment. I do want to note just how much I like the taste. I drink my coffee cold typically and add the suggested dose to my milk before my coffee is added to minimize heat impacts to the powder. The powder tastes like burnt marshmallow. It's not terribly great by itself, but it's not unpalatable. However, it gives my coffee this nice 'dark' taste. I actually like it in my coffee. *Update. I've been taking this with my morning coffee for the past two weeks or so and defiantly can feel a difference. More clarity but also I feel more stable. I'm in a relaxed better carefree mood. The taste has grown on me and I find myself looking forward to my morning coffee. It doesn't mix well, but it's not a big issue considering the benefits. I'm sure folks may have different results. As I still have an active untreated infection of Lymes disease I suspect my results may differ from others. I'll update after treatment.

Natural Dopamine Boost and Focus Support
This was my first time trying Lion’s Mane and I haven’t used any other brands before this. I decided to give BulkSupplements a shot because the powder was on sale and the price drew me in. I had always heard good things about their quality so I figured it was a safe place to start. I blend it into my first coffee of the day and right away I feel like my brain produces a little more dopamine. Living with ADHD my whole life, I’ve been searching for ways to support my focus and creativity without leaning only on stimulants. This has become part of my daily routine. I actually take it twice a day because it seems to wear off fairly quickly for me, but that second dose helps carry me through. It gives me a sense of clarity in the morning, makes it easier to focus, and I notice I feel more creative too. I wouldn’t say this could ever replace a prescribed stimulant, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend stopping medication and taking Lion’s Mane instead, but it does add a helpful boost whether you’re on stimulants or not. I don’t have scientific data to share, just my own experience, and for me it’s been worth it. For anyone curious about Lion’s Mane, this powder is clean, affordable, and easy to add to your daily routine. I’m glad I started here.

I take this two ways, with good results for either method
Like many reviewers, I found the taste of the mushroom powder off-putting, except in coffee. To avoid any clumping, which happened the first few days, I began to mix the powder in the coffee syrup (Autocrats--its a Massachusetts thing) which I have always used to sweeten my coffee and intensify the coffee taste at the same time. The powder stays suspended in the syrup and both mix thoroughly in my coffee leaving no residue and no strange mushroom taste. This works in both hot coffee and iced coffee. Alternatively I use empty capsules, which I make up in batches of 50, so I always have a supply at hand. Whichever method I employed to take the Lion's mane, I saw a benefit after about a week of using it. Not in any jarring way, but I noticed that I can do a NY Times crossword puzzle in a single sitting without struggling to remember a name or title, something I had given up all hope of ever doing again. I also noticed a benefit in the afternoon where previously I'd found it harder to maintain focus and easier to succumb to the dreaded brain fog. Now, when these symptoms arise or if I've planned my time wisely anticipating they will appear, I will either have a cup of coffee with the mushroom powder, or some tea with the capsules, take a 20 minute break (desk nap, walk, errand run) and when I return my focus is back even if i hate the task before me. As previously mentioned, it's not a rocket burst, but the effects are clear, consistent and cognitive, in my case better memory recall (especially proper nouns) less loosing trains of thought, or having things disappear on the tip of the tongue, and more reliable staying power for tedious tasks with a lot less of those stupid mistakes that can creep onto a page later in the day. The effects are not permanent, you do have to keep taking the mushroom powder to access the gains. I discovered this after a long weekend --4 days--of not using it. It took a couple of days before I was back to my more focused self. My sister, also in her early 60's, began taking it shortly after I started and she has had very similar results. Hopefully our experiences can help others set realistic parameters for their own use. It was very helpful for me to set the goal of trying to improve on my later-in-the-day task completion, because I could watch as that began to happen once I determined that the single early in the day dose dd not make enough of a difference and so I added the second one. The word and fact retrieval memory gains were a surprise suddenly struck when I realized I hadn't had to look up an answer for a crossword clue in a few days.

No sludge, like the first brand I tried! And better taste!
I started taking Lion's Mane a few months ago with another brand, Nutricost because I've had good luck in general with that company and wanted to see if I noticed any benefits from this mushroom. Of course, this is an n=1 experiment, and there are many confounding factors, but I do believe that it is making a difference. My focus seems to have gotten better and my mood has stabilized. However, there were two things that I didn't like about the Nutricost when mixing it with a cup of coffee: the taste was pretty terrible, and it left a sludge of particles at the bottom of the cup. I thought I'd try the Bulk Supplements brand, because I've had very good luck with exercise supplements from them. I just started with it and like it far better so far. I can't yet speak for the efficacy, but the taste is much more palatable and the grind is far finer so it doesn't leave sludge at the bottom. So far, so good!
