Are the lights built into the center stand so as you attach the sections it also plugs in the lights or do they have to be manually plugged in?

Hi there, Thanks for reaching out. This tree has 4 sections with a total of 3 plugs in between the sections that need to be plugged-in manually. Thank you.

Is there a place to plug in a star or angel tree topper?

Hi There, Thanks for reaching out! There is no outlet to plug-in a lighted tree top on this tree. By the way, the wattage of the lights on a lighted tree top are different that the wattage of the lights on a tree, so as a general rule, a lighted tree top should never be connected to the lights sets on a tree. This can cause the fuses in the light sets to blow out. It is always best to use a separate extension cord for a lighted tree top. Best regards,

What are the bristles made out of? It looks like two different materials in the pictures.

There are two different types of bristles. If I remember correctly, one fuller, longer "needle" type is used in the interior of the tree to fill in spaces, so you can't see right through the tree. The other shorter "needle" type are on the outside ends of the branches.
