Q: Is the blood meal itself derived from organically raised animals? I'm concerned that the word "organic" may be used to mean "not petro chemical" .

a bit confusing but from the package description itself: " Certified organic means no synthetic chemicals". so you are correct. In this case "organic" means "not petro chemical" . Besides, It matters not that the dried and powdered blood was from an "organically raised animal", it is now a 12% source of Nitrogen. So use it or not just as you would properly aged Chicken Manure. You won't get "non organic cooties" from the dried and powdered blood of an animal that was fed GMOs and antibiotics any more than a free range Texas Grass Fed Beef

Q: Can I use this on indoor plants?

Although it might be helpful to the plant, the unpleasant smell of dried blood would be overwhelming. Also, I would imagine that any indoor pets would be into your plants constantly.

Q: Can this be added to a compost tea?

yes. Internet recipes abound, research! I use it as the N source in Bonsai fertilizer balls for a slow feed.

Q: is blood meal recommanded for tulip bulbs?

You would feed Tulips in the fall by top dressing only with equal parts of Blood Meal, Green Sand and Bone meal. This is an organic fertilizer.
