Perfect for what we need!
I haven't lit a fire in this yet (got it for this winter for the rolling blackouts in TX), but I already love it!! It's sturdy and just the right size for a mobile home. We definitely didn't want anything big that would pose a fire-risk. My husband was able to put it together quite easily. I like the fact that the door handle can be taken off and put in it's own place when not in use. It will keep children from opening the door. So far I love it!

Still a sturdy design!
Still a great design after all the years, little has changed other than the design to add more efficiency. No longer made in USA but still made of sturdy and strong cast iron. Only issue is the poor locking handle design and the need to constantly tighten the screw holding the lock when it could use the old style of having several different locking positions. Overall a great stove for taking the chill out of a little or much larger area as I am currently using it to do as my larger chimney needs a new liner. Very happy with the abilities of this wood burner!

Small, but burns dry and damp wood ok with door open.
Works well for fire pit outside . I use drift wood off of beach. Cold air pipes and fire proof insert are inside. They can come out with some grinding. Top of stove does not open. I had an older stove where the round parts came out. Small vent in door. With door and flue open damp wood burned ok. Some dry wood mixed in helped. It is what I wanted to sit outside and look at flames.

WASTE OF MONEY!
Doesn't do anything good! Made from the cheapest of metal! Supposed to be cast iron, but more like pot metal! Castings are of the lowest "quality", core shift is obviously a major problem! Two legs on opposite ends broke off after assembly because one leg didn't even reach the floor! It sat about 2-3 inches off the floor! After disassembling and reassembling multiple times to try and get the legs level, ended up getting one leg to sit only 1-2 inches off the floor! The flue collar was cast so poorly that it will never fit into the cast in flange it is supposed to sit in. I spent three hours grinding on it to finally get it to fit. I "tried" to get a fire started in it, only to discover it won't draw worth crap! Smoke filled the room every single time I opened the door, and every time I closed the door, the fire would go out! I even had placed 4 fire bricks in the bottom as suggested by the manufacturer. The problem is it just doesn't draw enough fresh air to support combustion with the door closed, and the huge block mounted in the top that fully blocks the flue opening certainly can't be helping. This is what you get when mindless zombie bureaucrats at the EPA forcing their stupidity on people. If possible, I'm going to try to get a refund, but as I had to modify it, I doubt that will be possible. I wasted $414 dollars on this thing, and I don't understand why the price fluctuates daily on Amazon. Right after buying and before it arrived, I saw the price drop to $389, then rise to over $700 and it's currently $500! What is up with that? It would be overpriced at $100!

Great little stove for the $$$
This is a terrific little stove for the money. DEFINITELY install a damper or better yet a Magic Heat reclaimer as most of your heat will go out the stove pipe otherwise. I also use those thermo-fans to move some heat around the room, but to be honest I'm not crazy about them. Better than nothing is all I'll say. Another positive is that the stove is small, and I was able to move and position it without much trouble. I had to contact US stove about a parts issue, and their customer support response was fast and friendly.

happy so far
Haven't used it yet. What I know is there is no shipping damage, arrived timely, parts that needed to assemble were hassle free. Heavy, heavy. Eager to get up and running, however cold weather has gone. We will see and feel it's uses next winter.

Handle sucks !
I’m in the same boat as every body else , stove seems decent but the handle is garbage , mine broke right out the box ( one small tax weld holds handle together and it broke ) the rivets also broke that hold the handle holder to the stove , called the company lady acted like she didn’t really care , I’m an American and if u gonna slap the American name on something make it count !!!! For anybody reading this I saw another guy had the same problem and ditched the handle with the coil for a set of vice grips attached to the handle on the door and it is a lil ghetto but works better then the handle the stove comes with

good stove
Stove arrived undamaged, was easy to assemble. Have had it running for a few days. had some smoke the first time I used it as it burned off the factory coating. Now stove works great. Really heats the 10' x 20' work shop I have it in. Only issue is the two piece door handle is a little hard to use but not a big deal.
