Noisy but reliable wine fridge
I have read through several reviews online on this unit and other competitive units. If you care about honest reviews, please read on. Short review - A noisy replacement to my 10 year old Wine Enthusiast 24 bottle unit. Please stop complaining that the unit is noisy because you don't understand how refrigeration (compressor) based units work. There are some not-so-smart reviews out there who take videos of this unit complaining about the noise. If your room temperature is going to increase, the fridge needs to fire up the compressor to maintain the temperature you have set. I put mine in the garage because of the noise (problem solved). If you are considering this inside the house and care about noise pollution - this wine fridge is not for you. Long version - I am a proud owner of Wine Enthusiast wine fridge that I bought 10 years ago from another vendor. I love the simplicity and build quality. There was so much negativity these days about customer service (I will get to that as well). 2 weeks ago, my old unit stopped working. I was scrambling to find a replacement. I went back and forth between Wine Enthusiast and New Air especially for the dual temperature zone, capacity and compactness of the unit. This is a compressor based unit and is going to get noisier on hot days. Build quality - Just like my last unit, the interior looks exactly the same. The back has the compressor exposed. That is where the noise comes from. Storage capacity - you can store 32 bottles easily in this fridge. I have a couple of magnums in the bottom. Recommended location - Garage or somewhere you don't mind noise pollution. I had originally kept it indoors and moved it to my garage this past weekend. Customer service - I reached out to Wine Enthusiast for repair options for my old fridge. They were not only responsive (within 24 hours), they shared wine fridge repair technicians near my neighborhood.

Great capacity for size of frig!
So far so good, the duel zones is great to keep reds and whites separate at different temps. It does struggle a little to keep the upper section at a higher temp that the lower section. I have them set for 52and 45 degrees. The bottom section stays consistent but the upper will sometimes drop to 49 then recover back to 52 so not exactly where I want it but close enough. It did fit perfectly into the the spot on the bar where I placed it so for the size and the amount of bottles is holds as great!!!!

Useless from the start - Returned immediately!
Received my wine cooler pretty quick and it was delivered just fine, no issues. But once the box was opened, it was pretty obvious that this fridge was completely useless. The door was not on straight, cracks near the hinges, scratches on the corners and a dent on the side of the fridge. It was also very obvious that the door hinges were reversed - which usually wouldn't be an issue. The bottom hinge (which should go on the top) was pulling the door down. And the top hinge (which belongs on the bottom) had a bent in it that would lift the fridge door into place. You would think that you could just swap them... No, because there is a wire being fed through the door and hinge that prevents it from being removed or swapped. Also because the hinges are swapped, they don't properly fi, thus the door is cracked right where the hinge tries to connect. Where is QC?! This fridge was rated as one of the top wine coolers to purchase on almost every internet article I read... DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. Go buy yourself something else. And all Amazon did was send my complaint to the seller and give me a return shipping label; "just the middle man". I don't understand how a company can allow this fridge to go out the door?

Great product but be sure it is level to keep it quiet
Looks nice and the size is perfect for a keeping a few bottles on hand. The dual zone cooling is a very good and sufficiently adjustable. I’ve seen reviews about noise and while we had issues when it was first set up it now runs very quiet. As for those issues, we followed the instructions and let it sit for a few days before starting. On initial start it was quite noisy from the compressor area and after a week or so it wasn’t getting any better. Bottom line, make sure the unit is perfectly level. Used a 2 foot carpenter’s level to check level side-to-side, front-to-back, and corner-to-corner. 75% of the noise was gone immediately after this step and within about a week it was gone completely.

Excellent value for cost; great protection for my wines.
When this arrived at our home, the cardboard box looked pretty bad; the delivery driver even waited until we unpacked it to make certain it wasn’t damaged. As we did so, I was surprised at the extensive packing material used to protect the fridge. Heavy foam surrounded it, with the base and top getting even more protection. This is a handsome little wine fridge, especially with its mirrored glass front. There was no damage at all, and even the delivery driver stayed for a few minutes to admire it. I had removed an old, inoperative 30” wide Dacor dishwasher to make room for the fridge and it fit with plenty of room on top and either side, so any heat the fridge made would be dissipated efficiently. I let the fridge rest for two days (I was in no hurry) and then I plugged it in. I set the top section for 55° for reds and the lower section at 45° for my white wines. The fridge has lots of room, and I haven’t that much wine anyway. But I ended up reversing the upper & lower temperatures because there is a great wire rack below the bottom section; I use it for champagne and 55° is great for reds and the champagne (according to Dr. Google, anyway). We’ve had the fridge for almost three weeks and have had one big pot-luck party where it certainly proved its worth. Our refrigerator was filled with food so there wasn’t room for more than one or two wine bottles anyway. This wine fridge solved that problem. It also gives me the 55° that is recommended for long-term wine storage. The controls are intuitive, even for an old guy who prefers buttons and knobs that click when I turn them - like the channel selector on an old TV. Seriously, sometimes electronics make me want to call a grandchild to get help. Not with this fridge - it was easy. About the noise: late in the evening when the house is quiet, we hear little clicks and gurgles. They are not bothersome at all, and certainly don’t interrupt anything. They add some amusing character to the fridge, I think. We don’t have a garage but I could put the fridge in the basement if the noise were loud. That’s just not the case. The noise is no louder than our regular refrigerator or ice maker. I’m not an oenophile but I do have my favorites - a couple of bottles of Taittinger La Française as well as some nice wine the kids have given me. I kept them previously on a non-temperature-controlled shelf in the kitchen. Now, they are in this excellent wine fridge and ready to be served at the right moment. And they are protected. I don’t see myself getting a larger wine fridge, but if I decide to go wine-crazy I will most definitely buy an identical unit. I think the value of this machine is definitely worth what I paid. A friend in California actually is an oenophile, and he has spent several thousand dollars on his multiple wine refrigerators. His heavy investment in wine fridges is what made me hesitant to invest in one. I shouldn’t have waited and now that I have this one, I’m happy to have the opportunity to serve wine that’s been well protected and ready to drink. And did I mention the mirrored glass front? Very attractive.. There is also a button that turns on LED lights inside and those two features have gotten some ooohs and aaahs from friends. I’ve never gotten that reaction before about an appliance. Yes, I’m definitely happy with this fridge. I considered it a luxury at first, and avoided considering buying one. Now, I appreciate this luxury in my kitchen.
