Binod Chaudhary: An autobiography (Nepali Edition)

Good book - wanted to read more on his stories of struggles
Binod Chaudhary is the first and probably the only billionaire of Nepal. He does not come from establishment. His father was a relatively successful businessman but nothing extraordinary. There were far more powerful and rich business families in Nepal compared to the Chaudhary's. It is amazing how he became so rich and successful. In his book, I was hoping to see those stories of how he climbed the business ladder to get to top. He talks about some of those, but not enough in my opinion. What he has described well:- You get a good glimpse of Nepal's royal family's influence in business and how they had hindered economic development of Nepal for ages. Binod actually is able to use the Royal family's link for his advantage. He is one of Dhirendra's close friend (Dhirendra was a notorious prince that almost every Nepali hated).- How the energy sector in Nepal is very corrupt despite having lots of potential.- How Nepal's business have unhealthy competition.- How international politics is deeply intertwined with business goals. For example, he shares how a US ambassador to Nepal really tried her best to give a hydroelectricity project to a US company.- His stories of success with Wai-Wai and Hotel Taj are amazing. From reading his book, you realize that there are tons of rich people who have new ideas which will indirectly help Nepal develop. But business is so complicated and politicized that it is hard to carry out those ideas. One thing I didn't like in particular -He name drops a lot. For example, he would say something like "I had one of my friend contact a chief minister of XYZ state of India to get my kids into one of the top school of India." As a reader, it would be more interesting to me how he established relationships with so many people, rather than the fact that he knew these people.
