I have been trying to find a lip SPF that I can tolerate for YEARS. I've watched countless video reviews of lip SPF products from skin care influencers, estheticians, and board-certified dermatologist.I can't remember who mentioned the Cotz Lip SPF (perhaps it was Dr. Dray?), but I'm so glad I gave it a try.My issues with lip SPFs (whether you use a regular facial sunscreen or a lip-specific product), is that they always taste TERRIBLE. Disgusting and bitter. Like eating weird chemicals or plastics.This is the first one I've found that doesn't have a bad taste. And at 45 SPF, it's a great level for sun protection.As they say, the best sunscreen products are the ones that you will actually use EVERY DAY. This is a new staple for me, especially in the summer.

My lips are incredibly sun-sensitive. I feel damage after less than an hour in strong sunlight. This product has prevented that swollen after-feel, AND it goes on sheer!I've been using an Australian brand that works, but is thick and white. It saw me through a trip to the Caribbean but the heat did it in and changed the consistency, so I needed to buy more. I decided that this was a good opportunity for comparing the options, as I was sick of 'looking ghostly' or going to the extra hassle of putting makeup over it. I bought three new brands to try, and this Cotz is the winner.I out-pale redheads and I have no issues with the tint. I can barely see it in the mirror, which means I put it on by feel and wind up with very good coverage. It may be that it works better for people with a yellow undertone to their skin, like me, than those with a pink undertone.I like the smell, which is sort of fruity. I expected it to taste just as nice but it doesn't, which is not a bug, but a feature! I'm less inclined to lick my lips and rub it off. The taste is not bad, just sort of waxy. It's not like I cringe every time I taste it. It's just a subtle reminder to leave them alone.Consider me in love.

I can only give this lip balm four stars because I find it very drying. It does what it says it will as far as protection goes-my lips never burn or even chap when I wear this and it has a pretty color, but it's not moisturizing at all. It goes on moist but after about half an hour my lips feel completely dried out. They look all right, but they feel uncomfortable. I will still continue to use this product because it's the best protection from the sun I've ever found.

You can purchase all the lip balm you want, but you won't find any product that purports to be as safety-first as this one. The Cotz product line seems to care about appearance and ease of application, in addition to their strong assertions about protection. I keep several of these in places where I might need them, such as the car, the home, and at work.

I am completely mind boggled by all these excellent reviews. I am not impressed at all. I am someone who unfortunately suffers from cold sores occasionally from the sun. I am always very diligent of being sure to wear sunscreen on my face and to wear a good sunblock Chapstick. Over the years I have used many brands, the past few years I have used Hawaiian Tropic spf 45 and have not as many lip breakouts as I used to get when I was younger.I was getting concerned over all the harmful chemicals that is put into sunscreens so I changed over all of my sunscreens to all natural, and decided to try a healthy option for my lips as well.I bought this product about 2 months ago to use before my vacation. I used this product every 30 minutes on my lips over my vacation which was at the beach in New Jersey, and I broke out with a cold sore on my lip within 3 days of being home there. I chalked it up to the heat and thought that it was just time that one surfaced since it had been a while, But even times after that, once my cold sore was gone and I was at the beach on day trips, I did not feel that my lips were protected because they would feel almost burned when I got home.This last time I was at the beach was 2 days ago, I was there all day all day long, it was not humid, but was very sunny. and again I used this product religiously every half hour, and just now I noticed another small cold sore coming to the surface. I have not gotten this many outbreaks in such a short amount of time in I can't even remember how long.I am so dissapointed in this product, I don't feel that it has adequate spf, maybe it's because it's more titanium dioxide than zinc, I don't know but what I do know is that I am probably going to go back to the Hawaiian tropic Chapstick.If I could give this 0 stars I would. It can't just be a coincidence that this happened since switching over to this Chapstick. I Won't be purchasing this again.
