I ordered this cable because of past history with the company. Their cables for my smartphones had the quickest data transfer and because of the heavier gauged wire the charging was second to none. A half meter cord will be faster in all respects but I needed 3 meters and was not disappointed. I bought the 1.5 foot cable for a network hard drive connected to a wireless router and was immediately rewarded with a faster throughput than the cable that came with the drive. But, for the time being I will need a longer cable until I am finished wiring the network. The cable is just too short to move anything around. I expect to put this cable back in when I am finished because of the enhanced performance.

I can't speak to durability yet it's for my son's laptop his old one made it about 2 years we'll have to see how long the connectors on this last but connectors feel tight and snug which is a good sign.

I bought two of these 6 foot cables for some 2.5 inch external HDD enclosures that came with very short cables. These are thicker gauge while still being flexible and not too heavy. Transfer speeds are identical to the supplied cables which also indicates power should be the same or within specifications of this length. A really good value since Monoprice tends to sell some fairly generic products.

Disappointed that the cord connections became loose very quickly. Maybe this is just the nature of this type of connection, but I'm constantly having to push the plug in as it pull out of my computer very easily..

like the length and charges as it should.

Buy Monoprice stuff @ Amazon because buying @ Monoprice is a PITA.

I do have a drive that fits this cord. So I kept it just in case.
