Jodhaa Akbar Set

The Jodhaa Akbar 2 CD set is beautifully packaged and contains some of the best and most thoughtfully written and produced music from the movie's soundtrack. The first CD consists of seven offerings, two which are instrumental versions of selections also found on the same recording with lyrics, but this is not an effort to cut corners. Both renditions are found in the movie. I find that I play this CD over and over again. As for the second disc, there really is not much on it to have made the decision to release a 2 CD set. Some actors bios, a still photo gallery and a movie trailer are about it. Still, the music found on the first CD is in my opinion worth the purchase, and I am glad that I did. If you saw the movie and enjoyed it, you are going to want to own the CD. If you have not seen the film you may find it worth your while to do so. Just watch out for pirated versions that are badly produced and missing whole scenes. There are a lot of them out there right now. The whole movie at three and a half hours is magnificent. All in all a beautiful soundtrack from a beautiful story.

You should be aware that the 2nd disc included here is NOT a CD - it is the Bonus DVD that is also included in the movie 3 DVD disc set - so if you already have that - or are ONLY interested in getting the music, then the single disc set is just as good, if not preferable for the price. But either way, it is my FAVORITE Hindi film - and the music is outstanding as well...

The movie was gorgeous, and the music is lovely! We especially enjoyed the sufi scene and the song Kwaja Mere Kwaja... so we bought the CD just for that song! But my husband and I have the whole album on our iPods, it was that good. Now we can't wait for the DVD so we can watch the whole thing over again!

The only disappointing thing is I wished it had the tracks directly from the movie (as the singing and music was more upbeat and different mixes) but overall something different to listen too.

No word can describe the magic of A.R.Rahman's music. All the songs heard in the DVD are outstanding. In fact, I have bought the sound track because of "Kwaja Mere Kwaja" that goes straight into the heart. My only regret is Javed ALi's missing song in the deleted scene "Farewell to Jodhaa". The wailing that describes Jodhaa's sadness leaving her love ones, her anguish facing her fate in a new place, a new culture totally unknown, could be an asset to the cd set. Dommage! But despite my longing for this particular song, A.R.Rahman deserves a big bravo as I will say in French.

good movie

Great fun. Beautiful people and scenery. Great story. This has hooked me on Bollywood and Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai.

Nice music, but too bad the disk only has 8 music, I would have wanted more.

Exquisite music,for me in this cd i found music that makes my soul sing,and my eyes water with joy.everyone who had something to do with this music i would dearly love to thank and i am very gratetful for their wonderful gift.I want them to know that the five stars are not enough for me to give you,so please when you look up to the stars at night and all the stars you see and those you dont,i would give to you. even my cd container was beautiful,with lovely pictures on it and also inside was a beautiful booklet with little pictures with the lyrics inside it .I thought this all was a wonderful way to treat such fine music with respect.I too am hooked.
