RothcoVietnam Veteran Boonie Hat

This is in no way a real Boonie Hat. It is "stubby," the only word I can think to describe it. Husband has a real Boonie Hat & this one has a stubby little brim & he looks like a doofus with the hat on. In comparing the hats, this new one has shorted the brim by at least 1/2" - 3/4" all around, so it looks ridiculous. The top is also stubby. The size is correct for his head but style is not. If you are not sure about this hat, do not buy it as the buyer pays the shipping back & it probably costs as much to ship it as the hat costs. BTW, husband says it is important to say the real Bonnie hat is made in the U.S.A. & this one is made in China. End of story!

just looking at it brings back the memories of being "in country". the same hat, with the same tag inside, from the same company from way long ago. i am very happy to have one again, only this time i will not be afraid to wear it in public, or be ashamed to look some fellow Americas in the eye, and stand tall and walk proud, the way i could not do when i returned home from the war and had people call me all kinds of fowl and degrading names. i am glad for times that have changed when we talk about war and now people have thanked me for my service! any way it is one fine hat!

Most hats that I've ordered before, I've always got a hat that was too tight. I was skeptical at first but for the price, I was willing to take a chance. Since my hat size is 7.25, I ordered the 7.5. BOY, was it the right decision. This hat is excellent quality and the fit wasn't tight, but just right. Snug and doesn't leave a hat indention on my forehead like the ones in VN did. (Tight fit in VN was a necessity.) It may blow off in a strong wind, but it's worth it. If I'm not lazy, and in a hurricane, I could use the chin straps. I'm gonna buy another one for backup. 5 stars for the seller! Nice stuff! Good stuff brothers.We the unwilling, fighting for the ungrateful, are doing the impossible, have done so much, for so long, with so little, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing.

I did 1971 & 1972 in Vietnam in the Army as a volunteer there. Brought my boonie cap home with me but lost it.This hat (despite being made in China) looks like the real McCoy, is comfortable and will keep sun off my ears (had skin cancer removed from the top of one, prompting my dermatologist to recommend wearing a brim style cap) and I’m wearing all the time when working outside now.I like the cap so much that I’m buying another just in case I loose my boonie again.

I had another boonie hat for many many years before it finally passed away.The original I received in Viet Nam in 1966.I will keep this boonie until I pass, I am 77 years old now.This boonie is the best on the market!The seller is as good as they get, bye the way.

I am a Vietnam Veteran ' my last hat got losted ... so i found this one here on Amazon... only thing it said one size fix's all.... found it's a little big on my head... but hopefully after washing it a few times it might get to my size ' ha' ha' / I looks really nice if you like things that come from China' ... but over all it's well made''

Not made like the real ones, its fabric is thicker and does not stretch at all. Came rolled up tight and will take a while for it to conform back to normal. Rothco disapointed me on this one.

My husband was glad to get this hat as he had lost the one he had in Vietnam. Unfortunately we just guessed at the size and ended up returning the first 2 hats we ordered so my suggestion is measure your head and then ask the seller which size you should order.The third time I ordered the hat it fit great.The hat was just something my husband wanted and it reminded him of his time in Vietnam.
