Is hot water not required if it's used in a toilet?

If the toilet bowl itself is not clogged then no hot water is required. But if the bowl itself has a clog the hot water may be helpful in breaking down the clog after allowing the Green Gobbler work for several hours. Thanks!

Ultimate- the dissolve hardly worked at all. What did work was pouring half of the bottle of Ultimate, letting it sit overnight, then poured boiling water to flush. Chronic slow drain problem gone!
