A very good skillet
I'm writing this to clear up some facts about this great skillet. It's very well made, with a gloss porcelain enamel outside, and a course black enamel inside (yes the inside is coated, not raw cast iron). The coating on the inside is purposely rough, so it will hold seasoning, the way raw cast iron does, and it is excellent at doing that. I seasoned it 2 times, using a light coat of Crisco shortening, baked in the oven at 400 F, for 2 hours, then left in the oven as the oven slowly cooled, ..so it took a total of about 6 hours to do this 2 times. The skillet has a good non-stick coating on it now, and is very easy to clean, ..a little dish soap and a sponge, then a rinse, I didn't need to scrub it (I cooked 2 burgers, topped with a slice of cheese)..it's clean. It holds heat well, while cooking, as a good cast iron pan should, and being coated inside, and out, it will not rust..it's easier to take care of than traditional cast iron. I took one picture, after cooking the burgers, and cleaning it.

Nice iron skillet
Already seasoned. The color is nice . I got red. The handle has a coating, so you don't burn your hand, but it still gets a little warm. All in all, I would definitely buy another one.

A little rough
Isn’t very smooth inside like my very old cast iron skillet. Maybe all new ones are like this?Very pretty tho. Love the enamel. At least I don’t have to worry about the outside rusting.

Perfect For One
I didn't think I'd like this little skillet so much, but I find I'm using it almost every day. Once you learn how to use enameled cast iron, it will become your go to pan. I've been learning a lot lately through my own trial and error, and now all my pans are a joy to use. You don't have to use high heat to sear, just let it alone to cook. I put hot water in it when done, and after washing and drying, I wipe it down with a cloth and a drop of canola oil. Every day it gets easier to clean, and even though I have a scotchbrite sponge I use, I barely need to use the green side anymore. This will keep getting better with time, and there's nothing toxic in it, and it will last forever with a little care. The finish outside is glossy smooth and perfect, the inside was moretextured, but not too much. If you think it's too rough, read my review for LaCuisine dutch oven, Beautiful Pot But Needed Work. Keep in mind, if you tamper with anything and change the finish, you're voiding any warranty. I got this with a coupong for $13.99, which is ridiculously cheap for a pot that'll last forever, and if you think the finish is a bit too rough to your liking, and want to try sanding it a LITTLE, it's cheap enough to not regret too much if you completely botch it.

Good iron pan for making pancakes and tortillas!
I love the black interior and the red enamel outside. I feel confident that the pan won't peel or burn and will last. I just noticed a medium sized chip missing from underneath the handle and I will need to cover that with a silicone handle cover which will also protect from the heat as it becomes untouchable during cooking. I purchased a small 8 inch and the larger 10 inch at this low price. They look like expensive gourmet cookware and I keep them on my stove top.

Ruined my electric burner, do not buy
While this pan looked and worked well the first time i used it, the burner started smoking and when I removed the pan a layer if the enamel came off on the burner, permanently damaging the burner as it fused to the heating element. Do not buy this pan!

Works great on glass stovetop
I was a little worried about using this on my glass-top stove, but it works great. I love cooking with cast iron but don’t want to scratch my glass stovetop, and this does the trick. It is made in China and the price tag is cheaper than the name brands, but the quality is there. This is 1/2 price to name brands, so for $25, it’s an easy pick for me.

Great non-stick cornbread skillet for 2.
I have a 20 inch very similar to this. It has been our go to pan for cornbread but a little large for 2. I can understand why some might think it’s not coated cast iron but it does have a non-stick coating on the inside with a glossy enamel (powder coated) exterior. I love this little skillet!
