The raw edge of the hat, which is folded over in the image, is not finished. I did not check this prior to washing and the three hat set was a knotted, tangled, mess - literally had to cut the loose strings off to free the hats from each other. If you can sew, run a quick stitch around the fold of the hat or serge the raw edge before you wash it and I think it would be just fine. Washing disaster aside, the hats are super cute and fit my newborn's head perfectly.

VERY soft! Color came out just as pictured and it is really stretchy! A little smaller than a standard postcard (pictured). The fold isn't sown down so you can adjust as needed.

Absolutely adorable! i like purple/lavender more than pink for a girl so this was perfect for our little one.
